Reply to this comment with ideas on fixing the dark level

Submitted

tutorial font was very unclear, movement was stiff… i got the concept but it could have definitely been executed better unfortunately, especially the darkness level. good first submission though!

Developer

Do u know like how to make movement smooth i do not have any idea for the tutorial font i can try to make it less pixelated after the jam

Cool game and nice work! It's quite difficult and at points I wasn't quite sure what I was supposed to do but I had fun with it

Submitted

It’s quite punishing, the battery drains fast! It was very hard for me to read the text in the small viewport and in the dark room I feel like the radius of light should be a little bigger to see better, as is it feels a little unfair. Good job!

I love how they zoom around

Good work for first game! the camera anticipation is an interesting mechanic, but was a little hard to follow. good trying it out though! Thank you so much for rating my game! /jam/gmtk-jam-2026/rate/4823917#post-16758046

Congrats on your first 2d game! I think a lot of the first levels were tough with how dark and difficult to see which can be frustrating. But if its a rage game then it being frustrating is a success!

I feel maternal for the bad battery bot ❤️

Cool game, the battery maybe runs out a bit too fast.

After many tries, I wasn't able to pass the first level where you're in the dark :( Tried to do it without turning on the light to save battery, but didn't manage to get the second battery on the road, I always die a little bit before.

Really hard, but still fun to play, well done!

Developer

the strat i found was to dash and get the first battery then just do some more dashing and jumping and skipping the second batery on some runs i also have some trouble on that level

Submitted

I may be dumb but how do you dash ?

Developer (1 edit)

oh what i ment by dash is to just hold d

Submitted

Oh, so I just need to git gud, got it :-)

I like it quite a bit, though the level where you zoom out is quite cool, but it also makes it hard to see where the robot is.

I like the idea of a robot running out of battery power, and I like the speed and immediacy to how he moves. The level are a little abstract though and I felt lost.

Developer(+1)

do u know wich ones where abstract like how to fix it mabye

Submitted

I was thinking the second level. It's vertical and goes to the left. I know there are arrows, but it's pretty different than most platformers. Maybe abstract isn't the right work, and it's not necessarily bad if that's what you're going for.

Developer

okay i will try to make less levels like that

I am unable to get the game to play, looks like it is loading off screen. (Chrome 1920x1080)

Developer
