Very beautiful game. Loved the aesthetic. Game is not super easy, which I personally enjoy. Felt maybe a bit too harsh at times, but overall enjoyed it a good bit :)

Beautiful graphics and atmosphere. The concept of the game is great. I like card games.

What a beautiful game. I love Frostpunk and you really nailed that aesthetic! I got it down to 10 frost, best I could do after 5 tries.

Developer

Thank you very much! We do love Frostpunk too as is probably obvious. 10 Frost on the Weather Station is impressive! Thanks for giving it so many tries! I think we're sqaure since I tried your game WAAAYYY more than 5 times - it was great!

You know what. I had an idea, so I came back. And it worked.

I did NOT know that it was actually possible to beat.^^'
Good job!

awesome graphics i love games such as these so simple yet so effective

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Yours was also simple and effective at the same time!

cool concept but a bit too difficult for me. I think if u run out of cards to draw and have no buildings still warm, the game should automatically declare u failed instead of having to click next turn continuously

Developer

Thank you! Yeah it is definitely too difficult and the fail state is not handled gracefully at all!
Looking forward to play your game

Really cool, I liked artwork a lot

I like the concept but as you said in the description it is very punishing in a way that is not clear to the player. I feel like I have just enough time to keep firewood going, but there should really be some built in thing in the weather station where I get one card per turn so I cannot so easily soft lock myself. I have never actually gotten to the end of the 30 day counter on 4 separate attempts without just running out of resources halfway through and being unable to do anything on my turn. Still, I think the idea for a frostpunk style survival game with card mechanics is cool, and I always like card games about something other than traditional combat.

Thank you for the feedback!
Yeah, the game is simply unbalanced and we will address these issues in a post-voting-update.

Loved playing your game btw!

Thank you!

The game gets way too difficult later on. But I still had a fun time. Had to be very tactful in my actions. The art style is absolutely gorgeous. One thing that got in the way of strategizing was that I didn't actually know what a building did until I unlocked it for the first time.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! Yeah, I whole heartedly agree and see the flaws you mentioned. One or two more hours really could have gone a long way now. Looking forward to playing your game!

Submitted

Yeah I feel you on that one. One or two hours goes a loooong way.

The game looks beautiful and I enjoyed the game mechanics and required strategic planning. Actually very impressive getting all this together with a team of 2!

The game is balanced to be very challenging right now and it can feel unpredictable how much frost is gonna be added to which buildings when I end a turn. I wish that there was a preview for that. And a tooltip for each building to see what it will produce when thawed would be awesome as well of course. I think with some light rebalancing and these kinds of info tools, it would go from good to great!

Oh just saw you plan to make a post jam version. Nice, looking forward to playing that when it's out!

Curious to see what you submitted.

I think your game was a very interesting proof of concept for a gameplay loop that could be really enjoyable. The sound design and theming really lifted the atmospheric component of the game up, and the interpretation of the jam theme was very creative. One of the major issues with the current build, however, is that the way information is conveyed to the player was not effective with informing decision making, and I think the enjoyability of the game suffered as a result. Multiple times did I use all of my energy for the turn, just to not understand why I couldn't use any cards until I managed to find the energy counter at the top of the screen.

Overall, a very good submission and I can see that you are managing bugs and issues effectively, keeping players aware of known issues!

Thank you for playing our game, the kind words and your constructive feedback! It helps a lot.

We wholeheartedly agree that feedback and balancing is not as good as it needs to be. Amongst a whole host of other things, we are looking forward to patch this after the voting phase ends!

Looking forward to playing your game too!
