It's a really chill game, and I really liked the visual effects too. Well done! 👏

Thanks for the good mood! It's been ages since I've seen games like this :) This game relieves stress 100 percent!

After a lot of tense games this was perfect to just relax to. Not sure if it really hooks me for more score but that's ok!

Yay I win! Really liked the worm's movement and controls. Lovely game.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing! I'm really happy to hear that you liked the controls and the movement. Thanks for the support and for taking the time to leave a comment!

What a relaxing game! I wasn't expecting to see such a relaxing game considering the jam theme, but I really loved to see how different a theme interpretation can be.

I really enjoyed the graphics and sounds; everything is really nice. Good job! My only question is: Is there any way to lose at this game? Or does it just stop with your high score after playing for a while?

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing and sharing your feedback! I'm really glad you enjoyed this experience.

To answer your question: no, there's no way to lose at the moment. The game simply stops after eating a set number of leaves (around 6 to 7, so it wouldn't get tiring). The original plan was an endless loop where you would keep growing and forming cocoons to chase higher scores.

The game is nice and relaxing, but what is the win situation? i just win.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! You're totally right. I joined the jam near the deadline, so I had to make a quick "You Win" trigger after a few leaves. The original plan was an endless cycle where the silkworm grows, forms a cocoon, and keeps going, but time ran out. Glad you enjoyed the relaxing vibe, though!

It's lovely and I feel relaxed after playing it. The biting of the leaves sfx is oddly satisfying, the BGM is just meditative.

Everything with your project is just different than what I've experienced and rated on this jam so far. Even ours is action packed score chase approach to the theme but yours was just relaxing in a way.

Here are some honest feedbacks for your gem:
- If the leaves spawn in an overlapping position, the audio gets a bit messy while trying to put a double bit feedback to the player.

- The game's score chasing theme is just not quite there for me, it's just the bit counter for the player but anything does not improve. So the game does not urge the feeling of "let's play this again".

- And then, it just ends. Why? Player side does not know it.

Lovely entry and I had quite relaxing time experiencing it. And those are just my honest feedbacks on your entry so you could understand what your players think while experiencing your lovely crafts :) Well done Rogarca!

Wow, thank you so much for such a thoughtful, warm, and detailed feedback! I really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with Silk Sea. Hearing that the BGM, the leaf-biting SFX, and the overall meditative vibe stood out to you in this jam means a lot to me!

Your critiques are spot on:

  • Audio overlap: Excellent catch on the leaf collision and sound overlap! That's definitely something I need to fix and refine in the sound logic.
  • Score & Loop: You nailed it. I joined the jam past the midpoint, so due to the tight deadline, I had to stop the game after a few leaves (around 6-7) so it wouldn't get tiring. My original concept was to have the silkworm grow as the score increased, form a cocoon, and then "reborn" to keep the loop going endlessly with actual progression. Time ran out before I could implement it, which also explains the abrupt ending.

Thanks again for the honesty and encouragement!

You're more then welcome Rogarca :)

It was a pleasure having a chat, sharing some ideas. In these kinds of jams, so many products come out at the same time, and people do it just for the sake of doing a review... But it's a chance to get to know some fellow devs, look down into their minds for a brief window to see what they think, what they build.

I just try to take my time on reviewing these as much as possible and sharing my honest feedbacks. Since I think this would be far more meaningful and motivating for the game's developer than receiving such a superficial review. It was a pleasure to experience the Silk Sea. Keep it up!

Thank you so much, Yuzuki Game Studio!

Nice to meet you. I agree — jams are a fantastic opportunity to make connections with other developers, get to know their work, and understand a bit of their way of thinking. Just like you, I also intend to make time to leave relevant pieces of feedback before the voting deadline ends.

i was waiting for worm to get big but its a relaxing game

Developer

Thanks for playing! Growing the silkworm was actually the original plan, but since I joined the jam near the end, I didn't have enough time to implement it. I'm really glad you still enjoyed the relaxing vibe, though!

Relaxing game, nice sounds, but I'm feeling I'm not chasing score, I'm chasing nirvana.

Developer

Hahaha, that's awesome to hear! I love that feeling of chasing nirvana. Glad the sound design and the overall vibe brought you that peace while playing. Thank you so much for playing and for the great feedback!

I quite liked this one, it's a fun take on the 'high score' idea.

Developer

Thank you! I'm really glad you enjoyed this take on the high score mechanic. Thanks for taking the time to play and leave a comment!

Oddle relaxing and a very nice change of pace out of all the action-packed games everyone else has made. Only issue I had is that there is an end to it. I would have liked to just keep going and eating. Good work.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing and for the kind words! I'm really glad you enjoyed the more relaxing pace compared to other jam entries. Knowing that you wanted to keep playing is a big compliment!

About the abrupt "You Win!" ending after a few leaves: I joined the jam near the end, so time was super tight! The original plan was to have the silkworm grow, form a cocoon, and keep the loop going, but I had to cut it short to make the deadline.

Thanks again for the feedback!
