Wow, thank you so much for such a thoughtful, warm, and detailed feedback! I really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with Silk Sea. Hearing that the BGM, the leaf-biting SFX, and the overall meditative vibe stood out to you in this jam means a lot to me!

Your critiques are spot on:

  • Audio overlap: Excellent catch on the leaf collision and sound overlap! That's definitely something I need to fix and refine in the sound logic.
  • Score & Loop: You nailed it. I joined the jam past the midpoint, so due to the tight deadline, I had to stop the game after a few leaves (around 6-7) so it wouldn't get tiring. My original concept was to have the silkworm grow as the score increased, form a cocoon, and then "reborn" to keep the loop going endlessly with actual progression. Time ran out before I could implement it, which also explains the abrupt ending.

Thanks again for the honesty and encouragement!

You're more then welcome Rogarca :)

It was a pleasure having a chat, sharing some ideas. In these kinds of jams, so many products come out at the same time, and people do it just for the sake of doing a review... But it's a chance to get to know some fellow devs, look down into their minds for a brief window to see what they think, what they build.

I just try to take my time on reviewing these as much as possible and sharing my honest feedbacks. Since I think this would be far more meaningful and motivating for the game's developer than receiving such a superficial review. It was a pleasure to experience the Silk Sea. Keep it up!

Thank you so much, Yuzuki Game Studio!

Nice to meet you. I agree — jams are a fantastic opportunity to make connections with other developers, get to know their work, and understand a bit of their way of thinking. Just like you, I also intend to make time to leave relevant pieces of feedback before the voting deadline ends.
