The art and polish is top tier! You have a fan, I would love to work with you on art assets and collabs. I followed you on X.  Check my game out please

The art in this game is freakin' amazing, I absolutely adore this artstyle! Together with the polish, it feels like a game one would find on Steam, rather than in a 4 day gamejam wow. The game also has a good story, and lots of funny dialogue.

Though i have played Go a few times before, I'm absolutely dogwater at it, so it's nice to have a little refresher! As for the gameplay, I think it's a nice twist on the original game, and the new ruleset together with a 9x9 board keeps the rounds nice and short.

I do think that the upgrade that gives you points for your collar equal to the amount of turns left is a bit too strong. I got it after the first round and finished after the next. This doesn't affect the gameplay though, just made me want to play it again lol.

Anyways, this is one of my favorite entries of the jam so far, definitely playing it again later :>

THE ART DIRECTION ON THIS IS SO GOOD

The character designs, the sound effects, the UI, it's all peak!

>Death Games are so in vogue right now

Are they?? I thought that trend had kinda passed recently.

Also thanks for the go lesson, I knew about the game but not the rules so this is a good lesson. Too bad I'm still terrible at it

Really impressive this. The characters and writing are great, and it actually taught me Go without it ever feeling like a tutorial. Looks gorgeous too. Genuinely one of the best I've played this jam.

Check out my game if you get a chance, a chess roguelike called Final Gambit: /jam/gmtk-jam-2026/rate/4813276

This is amazing !!! I'm a big fan of the death game genre, and I this was an absolute joy to play through. I also think it had the intended effect of making me actually want to play Go (even though I'm incredibly bad at it). The characters were also great and this was insanely polished for a game made for a game jam, just insane work all around

So well polished!!

omg i adore the artstyle! Ive never played Go before but as a first time experience the gameplay was fun :) Overall a fun and charming game, expecting to see this in at least top 100! Maybe top 50 :D

Loved how easy it was to get into. Rules were explained very well while keeping me invested with the characters!!

Also really love the expression changes as the game plays out

Thanks for teaching me Go!)

I never played Go before, but the game's explanation made up for it.

I loved the characters, and the overall theme, it's pretty well-polished. My only regret is, I finished the game without seeing what happens when the counter reaches zero. I might've been just lucky, or the game is not that hard. Anyways, I enjoyed the show, and would come back if there was more. :)

Okay I SUCK at this game so my review will be more focused on the art and everything else.
It is INSANE to me you got this level of art and polish in only 4 days, it does not have the usual Gamejam "Jank' to the ponit it feels like something i could see as a niche indie game on steam and not even question it.  The writing is funny, characters are charming, overall one of the best games this jam.

Glad i finally got to learn go, shame I'm so bad at it! This was great! super cute and charming! The double placement in one turn saved my life more than once

Amazing game complete with incredibly cute sprite animations, funny dialogue, and a gorgeously cohesive sense of style overall. I genuinely cannot believe how polished this game is considering it was made in such a limited amount of time!
Side note: I died. Many. Many times. Embarrassing amounts. And I absolutely loved it.

Love the death game setting and I love the art

Love the aesthetics, although could we not be at risk of death? Didn’t expect to have to learn go in my final hours, but this was a good time with neat upgrades, and getting on a roll really feels like it stacks up nicely.

I was always mediocre at go, and have always found puzzles boring. I love how this twists conventional puzzles. The music is enjoyable, the gameplay is smooth, and the art and lil story is just adorable.
