How does your game fit the theme?
You can only deal damage per turn, so health becomes a sort of countdown

Interesting game! A little difficult, but an interesting take on the jam theme! The previewing of the enemy movement you had worked well in conveying what was going to happen on the next turn.
Making a game all about DOT is a nice idea. I'm not a huge fan of the artstyle, however the game does plays nicely and capitalizes well on the retro aesthetic anyways.
Nice one !
game broke on room 3 on the last enemy, unfortunately. Cool concept, it's how i image chess to be if it was originally created by the NES
I think this game could benefit from a tutorial, even a brief explanation on the itch page, as I really did not understand what I was doing. I really like the style though
There was a tutorial button on the titlescreen, the bottom one below the start button. It gave a simple explanation of the game's mechanics, about 3 small paragraphs.
Oh yeah I missed that, my bad
Seems interesting, unfortunately if freezes when the first enemy dies
Interesting concept and great retro aesthetic. Audio would have benefited from a bit more variety, but it's perfectly playable as is.
Love the NES aesthetics! Feels really retro ^^ Audio did leave a bit to be desired, it became annoying after a while Gameplay-wise, I felt quite confused at the later floors, I didn’t really get how to pass my effects to enemies so I ended up just hitting them instead
Overall it’s a solid idea that can be built upon, great work!
Love the NES style. Totally could see this idea being expanded. Feels like a very fun version of chess. Only complaint was I was confused on what caused my health to drop in different scenarios.
Audio was pretty bad sound like it was being duplicated? The mechanics are very good.
I enjoyed this a lot! I think you could expand this into a full release with some minor changes to mechanics. It was hard for me to tell that the shop was a shop, I thought it was like a loot room. It also would make more sense to me if I killed the enemy prior to their turn as they would get hit by me with 1 hp, then move to a tile, then die. I did run into the freeze as well.
Good job!
