Hey, I apologize. (Also, my first comment on itch I think, yay!) I have denied using AI on multiple occasions on social media and have shown multiple forms of proof for the artwork (I am not exactly sure how to prove the writing is mine, but if there is a way then I will), but since I am still getting accusations I will say it again: I did not use AI. Not for the writing, and not for the art. Since that didnāt work and people (influenced by the comments on itch) were believing it was made with AI, I panicked and impulsively deleted comments because I was anxious and didnāt know how to handle the situation. I actually purposefully avoided deleting comments (until today) because I didnāt want to silence anyone. Iām sorry and I promise I didnāt to it out of malicious intent. I just donāt really know how to respond to this kind of thing because Iāve never been in this situation before. Game design genuinely means so much to me because it is perfect in every aspect. It has the perfect combination of writing and art, and I enjoy every minute of making them. Seeing people believe that I didnāt actually create it made me really scared because I was worried that it would overshadow everything that Iāve been working on and it has been taking a toll on me mentally. Iāve seen another creator in the same genre have to take a break for the same reason and I was terrified that I would eventually do that as well (because game development has become such a huge part of my life), so I responded poorly by deleting comments instead of responding when I should have. I know that a situation like this may be stressful but deleting comments and running away from the accusations is only going to make people more suspicious if youāre not actually using ai. Especially when you deleted a comment from another user that pointed out in depth why it could be traced over ai. If you plan on making a dlc + another vn + taking 100+ dollar commissions from people I think proving the fact you arenāt using gen ai would be really important. There is such a jarring difference in all the art in the game and I checked your tiktok page and there wasnāt really any damning proof that you arenāt just tracing ai, and you donāt really have any speedpaints up that I can see. šš
Thereās a lot of inconsistency ur cutscene art such as skin color and just slight things in how he looks and it doesnāt make much sense . Iām not saying all this stuff to be mean but thereās seriously so many reasons people could think your art is ai and the way you responded to being accused doesnāt help much cause now if those users come back to see their comments deleted theyāll just think theyāre rightš
Hi! I understand that, which is why I sent the paragraph trying to clarify things. If you saw my post on TikTok about my much older art, youād see that my art has always been very inconsistent. I still donāt exactly have a style down, and that is something that Iām still struggling with as an artist. Finding an art style is a very long and hard process, at least for me, and itās not really something to force. Another reason for the art change is because I began taking college art classes in the middle of creating the art for Just Be Patient. I personally do much better with structured learning, so I think that helped me improve a lot. And with the differences in skin tone, I also struggle with colorization sometimes when the art has such different lighting. Everything in the later images is darker (intentionally, to create more of a grim atmosphere as his actions get worse and worse) but I guess I made the skin tone in particular too dark, which is my mistake. There are also inconsistencies with his other features for a couple reasons. I made the mistake of not making a character sheet or anything like that for him. In fact, the first pictures I ever drew of Calvin were his sprites. This is because it was initially supposed to be a very small project, I never expected the game to end up where it did, so at the time I didnāt really care enough about it to put hours of work into a character sheet for a game I thought nobody was going to see. I think I struggled the most with his hair, especially since I am absolutely not used to drawing short hair, specifically from different angles. Thatās how we ended up with scouse trim Calvin lol. I also am not really used to drawing men, for the longest time I would only draw women or feminine men, so drawing Calvin was extremely out of my comfort zone and I made a few mistakes. In the art thatās actually drawn by you your artstyle is very consistent and actually looks like you drew it, the sprites u drew for ur upcoming game look like ur artstyle. It just looks like u learned how to render better, thereās also just inconsistencies that donāt really work with your excuse it just seems like youāre trying to sympathy bait. Throwing false accusations can have serious consequences and effect on creators. Just look at the prescription love incident. (Which very coincidentally also was a visual novel with doctor/medical themes btw.) Litt what are you trying to achieve by slandering someone here? I'm very well aware of the time and effort and love it takes to make a good visual novel and I've tried being respectful with my comments. I'm not throwing false accusations when I'm pointing out obvious flaws the art may have that give it away as AI?
If you actually read the responses you'd know I'm not attemping to slander anyone and I even commend their use of their own art in the game. You can stay ignorant but I'd rather have atleast one speedpaint or fathomable proof besides pure words from the author that their recent art hasnt been atleast influenced by AI in some way or another.
I care because people are paying hundred of dollars for commisions from this person and if it so does turn out that its AI influenced what then?

ALONGSIDE, the fact that if you actually cared instead of baseless accusations and checked you would see a recent commission with the speedpaint that looks exactly like the art in this game and a tiktok showing their step by step way on how they draw him + other WIPs, layers and art stages they've shown alongside the fact that they have many tiktoks showing lineart

Because responding to people like you leads nowhere lol I've seen replies to different people on here about this topic and it's clear no amount of respectful wording or conviction is gonna get your mind out of the white knight gutter. When someone likes a game they're gonna defend it lmao especially when the creator acts nice for sympathy points. Someone's already talked about it and pointed out the reasons for why it might be AI in the comments but the creator deleted them lmaoo
The pity bait doesn't work when you have a brain and a working pair of eyes. If you've ever even looked at a drawing app you'd know WIPS , lineart and layers are the most easily fakeable pieces of evidence someone could give. You mention the consistency of the art despite the fact that in some cgs Calvin's whole facial structure fully changes. The comission piece of Calvin holding that one man back is cookie cutter ai art, certain things change between same cgs that shouldnt like fabrics moving where there isnt any movement in the popsicle scene or lines appearing and reappearing in the same cg, the most AI resembling ones are the ones where calvin gets punched. I never mentioned the art being fully ai generated but you cant tell me you don't see the ai influence in certain parts. They could be using it as reference or even tracing over it or painting over it which is what I believe to be the case. The latest speedpaint was obviously uploaded as proof though it doesnt help when it clearly doesn't match the quality of the cgs in the game that i pointed out to look ai influenced (The ones where Calvin looks like he has the glam filter on.) You fail to understand that using ai for art isnt as simple as just "chatgpt generate calvin" when people have proven themselves to go to lengths beyond anything to hide the fact, and that doesnt mean ALL their art will be ai. Whose to say theyre not feeding their own art into ai.

I checked the other game being accused of AI and seeing the response sensible people got under the Prescription love dev's other game with clearly ai assets really showed how blind people could be to this sort of thing.
