The gameplay switch is so creative! I think this could expand into other genres as well. Also got lost in the maze... haha
Very fun game!
Thank you! It would be cool to see how we could include more genres π€ Yeah, the maze part we have realised is *much* more difficult than we intended π i realised that a bit too late into play testing π
As someone new to game dev, I think it was great even up to the point I got to play. Don't take my first comment as like... a problem, you know?
I think the maze level should be longer and definitely more challenging than the previous levels, considering it's a maze. Just maybe more clues? (Specially like how one clue was that the bear is not this way and it was! Love an unreliable narrator!)
Also, the narrator was really fun. Something about desperate narrators is really funny to me haha. Reminds me of Stanley parable (the quirkiness and humorous vibes) and Slay the princess (begging the player to do or not do smth).
Yeah! Stanley Parable was the vibe I was going for. Those clues were added at the very end of the jam, so glad we added those to the maze π
I got lost in the maze, so I donβt know how much more there was to play. Iβm hoping that it was pretty far into the game since the screenshots just show that. The genre switch is really interesting and I think games that play with player expectations are super neat. well done on the jam entry.
thank you so much!
yeah, we kinda made some parts harder than we intended π ... but the maze was stage 4 /5, so you got most of it.
after the voting ends we want to upload an updated version that feels less frustrating, hopefully the maze will be easier then as well.
Love that the voice-acting was recorded by people! The visuals were also really polished as well, well done!
Thank you! We got the most British person we knew to do the va! π
this sounds like an insult
I mean are you or are you not british?
Such a cool idea! Really enjoyed the game and its vibe! Great job!
Thank you! The vibes were a bit random but glad you enjoyed them!

Ok, I enjoyed this. However, I do think that maze section could be polished up to be easier by having a generative map in the corner so you know where you been. I think the platforming could use a bit of polish too. But I'm very impressed by the fact that you got two genres of games in one. I would say that a bit of music in the dungeon part could go a long way. Other than that fantastic game mate!
Featured in today's live stream!
Thank you very much for the constructive criticism πββοΈ, this jam has shown me in particular how vital a good set of controls and player movement can be to a good game, which is something ill take into account in the future!
The beginning was awesome! The game significantly slowed down in the labyrinth, and we spent quite a while getting lost in the maze. (We also managed to break the controls with a gamepad on accident, but controller support was never advertised anyway). The comedic timing of the voice-over was funny and the explosion and cut off screams really added to the game :)
thank you! yeah we realized soon after the jam ended that some parts were just too hard or take too long
I absolutely loved it! I love how you play with the narrator role. And also your voice over! Great job
Thank you! We wanted the narrator to feel like a real guy you can mess with lol
Very nice, I loved the penguin in the isometric view with in 3rd person. For me a bit of a downfall was the dungeon which (I don't want to be rude) had very hard to move controls. I also got soft locked when I somehow got stuck inside the button in the dungeon, so that threw me off a bit. Anyways, very good idea, could use music, but for me the star of the show is that 3rd person controller. Very, very nice. 4.6/5 stars for me!
I'm very glad you overall enjoyed the game! I worked on the dungeon and admittedly the controls could have used some touch up, but i wanted to stay true to the old dungeon crawlers. Saying this i probably should have made them faster, because keeping them slow did not really add something. And I'm so sorry about the softlock!
Funny game lol, voice acting really ties it up
The voice acting does really seem to be the star of the show lol
Fun game, reminds me of the Stanley Parable
im glad! :D
Super fun and kinda random! Love the Idea tough!
thank you! random was exactly what we were aiming for xD
omg I adore the use of tiles it's so cool! :D
the cocept is super cool and whimsy too
thank you!
