First, however, I need to know what this game is supposed to be about in theory. I'm very sorry, but I can't help you effectively develop a game that seems to be 10 seconds long with a simple monster chasing you.
What are you supposed to do in this game?
Also, you'll get a lot better at managing your time. I'm also working on the same thing, as I ran out of time for visuals and audio in my submission too.
Cool concept, but it's a little bit hard to see the monster behind you, maybe do a third-person view so you can see you're being chased? Also, the menus are a bit laggy, and the options button has no back button, so you get stuck there. Overall, though, its a really great start, it would be really cool to see this as a finished product with more levels, more mechanics, and a more fleshed out story
For me, I would use a few hours to think and plan out my game, the core game loop, what is the objective and the goal of the player, etc. If you can prototype quick, by all means do so! But don't spend too much time on it, if you have too many ideas and can't prototype fast enough just pick the ones that resonates with you the most (a bit abstract here but you get the point). Then I would make the core game loop, then look at the time to see if I can add more to the game loop to make it more interesting. Then I would start looking for art assets, music and SFXs. The remaining time will be polishing the game as much as I could. Cut down features that doesn't support your core game loop, only implement it when you have the time, which is quite hard cuz you have so much to do as a solo dev. Most importantly, plan out what you should do, stick with it and juggle your time. Join more game jams! They help you to learn these in a brutal but efficient way, trust me I have been there too! Good luck for your future jams, and also have fun making games! :D
I dont really know what the game is about, but it is pretty funny and scary to be chased around by a big red thingy.
I think there are a lot of rooms for improvement, and i think it simply lacks explanation, content and depth, like adding sprinting, jumps, platformers, obstacles etc.
