Really clever use of the jam theme. I really like te main mechanic.

I also really liked the minimalist design and the color palette used.

Good job! :D

thank you, i really appreciate the kind words!

Nice art and concept, I think it has a lot of potential. it was nice to have a safe zone to stop, plan routes, and 'counting downs'.

I read the description and noticed that enemy spawns also are affected by down presses. But I didn't know that even after clearing the game. a small visual hint (like flashing or shaking) might help with that. (or you could make a level requiring that information)

Duly noted. I added a different kind of audio but visual is always better i suppose since it's hard to tell apart sounds. Thanks for the feedback!

Really interesting interpretation of the theme! It would be nice to have a counter telling you how many downs were left till the door opens, as I found I lost track whenever it reset, but I guess that might subtract from the experience of counting the downs yourself.

Thank you! Yes I did think about it and was about to implement it (because the UI was looking too empty and I wanted to add something), but I realized that it would beat the point of counting the moves since you could just check the counter instead.

This is a fun game and concept and I'd love more levels, also lovely sound design and visuals. I feel like it could work better if the enemies can only move when you move so it's more strategy over action, that might take some of the tension and difficulty out though so idk. Great game, i'd love a web build or one with more levels!!!

Thanks for checking it out! Unfortunately I didn't have time to design more levels, but I did initially have the enemies' movement tied to the player's move. However that felt too easy, but I should've still toned down their speed now that I think about it; lack of foresight from me.

Also the web build wasn't working on itch (due to an issue I later fixed) so unfortunately I removed it at the last second and it hurt my jam progress a lot.

Well it was still really fun! I also had issues with the web build, really annoying having stuff like that slowing development down :(
