Slop
You tried to release an AI game into the jam a half a year before it opened when the jam has a no AI rule and you’re calling me slop
it's not ai i worked so hard on that game i have proof
Really good game, sadly i only got two fighter variants in 6 battles
Very fun, but very hard!
I really like the art style, each character had personality, the music was good, the gameplay and concept were both solid, all put into an impressive for a 4 day jam. I especially like the attention to detail, like having a break between each opponent to present the next one.
My only real issue with the game is that the timing was weirdly telegraphed, if not at all. I noticed different attacks had different colors, but I couldn't figure out where was the parrying window on each of them. Maybe add a VFX the moment we can parry so we can get a feel for it instead of blindly trying over and over again.
ayy another boxing game
I wish the parry timing was telegraphed in any way at all. I spent three different careers trying to figure out when to parry and for all three tries, I only parried a single time. The control shown in the tutorial was also incorrect so I'm not counting the first career I spent pressing Z and seeing nothing happen when the correct key was actually W.
I love the art style and the music was fine but the sound design was bad enough to be distracting, especially the two sounds that repeat in the wind-up to a punch. I can't say if the vampires have different move sets because since I couldn't manage to parry at all and just dodging with the arrow keys takes so, so long to drain a vampire's stamina, I didn't manage to win a single fight and advance. So I don't know if the other opponents are good or if the upgrades are interesting.
I also always got the same model for the vampire, despite the fact I'm almost certain there are several enemy models, so maybe I just got unlucky with the RNG. Overall, I think the concept was very creative and the art direction well-realised, but the gameplay itself was confused and a bit hostile and the sound design just made the experience rather unpleasant.
Regardless of my criticism, good job on completing the game jam; this is not an easy thing to do and you should be proud that you completed a game in such a short time frame.
good art style a mechanics, timing is little unclear but still very possible, all it would need is for each person to have different types of moves or combos to dodge.
