The art is the headline here. Zariel with the gold horn crown, the purple suit, the red tie, that looks like a commercial visual novel rather than a jam entry. The menu with the pendulum clock and the painting on the wall is gorgeous too. And the archaic English fits her perfectly, "Thou art but one of many demons who have lost everything" is exactly the right register.
The CHEAT button in the middle of the table is a great idea. Literally daring the player to cheat, with the threat of getting caught, is a mechanic with real personality behind it.
I got stuck though. Once the cards were dealt I clicked my cards, clicked the middle button, tried R for the dice like the description says, and nothing happened. I never played a single hand. I suspect part of it is that the screen is wider than the browser window, since RETURN and SHUFFLE are clipped at the edges, so there may be an important button sitting off screen entirely. Making the canvas scale to the window is probably the first fix.
The other one is rules. It's a card game with its own rules and there's no tutorial inside the game, so I had nothing to fall back on. Sort out the onboarding and this looks like a much bigger project than a jam entry.
