I sadly only got to Level 5 before moving on to rate other games, but from what I saw the game is a very well-crafted puzzle game that is a lot harder than the premise suggests. I initially thought that making the pieces self-cannibalize each other would make the game too easy, but in reality the game forces the player to understand how each piece interacts (or will interact) with other pieces on the board. This made Level 5 the roadblock for me because the Knight is arguably the trickiest piece in chess to maneuver around, so having to navigate the entire board eating a Knight every turn (in order to meet the 17 Moves) was what made me raise my hands in surrender (for now at least).

The visuals are fantastic, especially the animations for each piece type when they're eating another piece. It and the black/red chessboard were the details that really sold the "gothic/vampire" aesthetic for me. Maybe I'll come back to this game in the future when I've had more time to think about it.

Your musical style and visual art are truly unique, and the puzzle design is incredibly clever – it’s well worth taking inspiration from. Well done!

This one was really tricky! I think the sort of gothic chess board aesthetic felt really unique and well done. Great submission!

I love how the game completely changes once arrows were in play

This game is underrated, and the music slaps

Nice combination of a limited number of moves, puzzles, and chess! It is quite challenging, which is also a great feat for a jam!

A small piece of constructive feedback: a pixel font would have been cool to match the rest of the aesthetics.

Solid puzzle game.  Reminds me of the old peg game but with more depth.  Later levels are pretty challenging.

Counting down the number of pieces ! Really fun game ! The music is a super vibe, I love it!!!!!! Really cool puzzle mechanics, and I can only wish to see this with more levels in the future :)

I was not expecting a chess puzzle in this game jam but I really like it. I really like how you added the blue arrow pieces too. They make for really interesting puzzles. Great work!

Thanks! Yeah I feel like arrow pieces really helped in adding strategy to the game

I failed at the all knights level :( Still, it was fun!

Thanks! It's too bad you didn't get to the arrow mechanic
