Wow amazing and really nice tight movement and a beautiful art and good sounddesign. We also made a platformer but i think you did it a little bit better :)))
The game was fun and I enjoyed it despite the fact that it got too hard too fast. The level's designs where fun too, whish there was more of them. Great job!
Played at https://twitch.tv/hedge_in Part 2 @ 50:35. I cheesed some of it!! But it was fun!! Nice jerb!!!! :)
I like the animations! I think it would be cool if the robot had a more rugged design that matched the other visuals. The last level was tricky! Turning around is quite slow, maybe the slide (or even the jump?) could 'set' your momentum when using it to turn around to get a more snappy option. Or maybe turning around is supposed to be hard! The robot is supposed to feel heavy and building/managing your momentum is important, in which case the level design probably shouldn't ask you to perform quick turn-arounds on vanishing platforms.
The wall jump was also quite awkward for me, perhaps it could give you some grace (or coyote time) when turning and jumping off the wall?
Loved the art! the animations were super smooth, and liked how floaty the character was
The art in this is really good, especially the animations. The sliding mechanic is fun to play around with. Great submission.
Nice idea, and the art was really well done (especially that paralax background). It was a little hard for me though; I couldn't get past the momentum platform on the second level. It probably could use a few levels to warm the player up.
Great work! A fun idea.
I agree with some other comments, really difficult right from the beginning, but I totally get that those things are tough to tune in a jam context. Still, well done! It's a great entry!
quite hard but the artwork was really good
Love the look of that game, simple and charming!
Neat idea to have the countdown integrated like this. It's about perfect execution. But...
I do find it way too difficult from the get go. I did not understand the platforms being the countdown immediately. I wish the first real level started like the second one, where we immediately see the countdown on the platform and realize what is happening.
I wish platforms had different colors or ways to know what they were about to do. Red for up, blue for something that goes on the side, or another artwork. Something to differentiate them. I also found the levels to be rather difficult because they are pretty long. I was proud of my progress in each levels only to realize that was only the first part. And then you get stuck on the same thing again and again, having to redo what you know well every time.
The parallax effect is great but could use some tuning, as I found myself confused when jumping, because the first layer in the background moves at the same speed as we do on the foreground or something. It would help if it was slower than it is right now. And having the same parallax up and down as left to right would be freaking amazing, especially to judge how far we are in the level.
Neat little game, I hope my notes don't come across as too harsh. I find it pretty cool!
Thank you! I appreciate your honest feedback a lot!
Very nice platformer and music . took me a while to realize that you can catch up with the time by continuously pressing shift. the countdown sometimes trips me off as some platforms activates slower than others when its time indicators are all red. Love the artwork too especially the robot and the parallax.
Great art and a tight set of platformer controls. Nice work!
Very polished game ! The timings are very tight on the platforms though, I spent a long time on the third level trying to get it working
Really fun platformer and a somewhat original take on the theme. Feels really tight though and the overall game is very polished.
I enjoyed the game. The wall jumping was pretty difficult because you couldnt jump off a wall while facing away from it, so that can be improved. Good job!
Thank you! I had realized the wall jump was pretty difficult near the end of the jam, but unfortunately, I couldn't come up with a solution in time.
