Ranked from 40 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

How does your game fit the theme?
The timer counts you down, so you had better beat the level before you and your ghost get reset and have to do it all over again. See if you can beat the developer speedrun time of 2:19. There is certainly room for a few seconds of optimization...

I love the idea of having to play a level twice and take a different path each time, and this game adds a wonderful speedrunning aspect to it that i found really fun. the movement felt pretty clean, i like the art style, and the music fits well. great game!

Glad you had fun with the game

I think there is something here; the movement feels pretty good! I do feel like it takes a little while to really pick up. The ghost concept is fun.

I do find that the fact that when you fall over some platforms you need to go back and climb back up again a little tedious after a while (vs a more fall and die of classic platformers).

Developer

Appreciate all the feedback . Glad you enjoyed playing!

Has a fast and smooth flow that feels really good when you get the hang of it. One gripe is it was sometimes difficult to judge if the height of my jump would be enough to reach the next platform.

It'd be cool if some of the levels had a bit more depth, perhaps in an expanded version. As in your ghosts need to do a little more, or you have to plan your path and order of events. Because currently each level is the same in structure where you take one path the first time and then a second path the second time.

For instance, maybe ghosts have to open paths for each other several times? So on your final run, you have to be in all the right places at the right times instead of just making a beeline to the goal. The concept reminds me of the Clank puzzles in Ratchet and Clank: Crack in Time, where you record copies of yourself.

Had fun though! The music was cool, and I liked the stylized art of the ghost!

Appreciate the feedback and glad you enjoyed! Lots of good ideas if we continue development post jam.

Really enjoyed this, thought the gameplay was really tight and the detail into putting your exact movement into ghost data was amazing!

Glad you had a good time playing

Really good game, especially for a 4 day jam; I played for a while and there are no game-breaking bugs, the game is super polished, and with the visuals and audio on top? 10/10

Only issue I found was the buttons in the settings were overflowing, but it's not a big deal.

The thing I didn't understand is that, does the dash drag you down? I had a feeling that using dash drags me down faster, it's probably an illusion caused by FOV switching, but it was weird.

Also holding down spacebar to jump higher was annoying, I got used to it overtime, but I think jumping higher instantly is way better than holding it down, especially for the speedrun games. It's not bad if this was intended as a feature, it's like an unique quirk.

Overall this is a really good game, I'm still amazed you guys managed to polish up the game this well in just 4 days! Well done!

Glad you enjoyed! We made a last minute change to the air dash because it was initially too strong. Now it uses where you are looking as the player. Looking up gives a bit (marginally) more height. If you watch the speedrun, you will see me dashing up to gain that small bit of extra height. Appreciate all the feedback.

Oh I see, That's why I was going down, lmao

Developer

All good - the game is supposed to have some depth to it. Atleast as much as we can make in 96 hours.

Amazing what was made for a game jam, had a lot of fun playing this and getting mad at myself for not running faster to get that button pressed! Awesome game!

Great locomotion and game feel!

What a fun idea! Definitely deserves to be pursued further after the jam, it's fun right now and I can see how it could be multiple times more fun if there is time for polish. The movement feels great, especially moving in air and the dash. I wish I could use the dash more often but I understand why that would probably break the game haha.

Developer (1 edit)

Yea, more dashing is too strong. But agree that it is a fun mechanic.

The dash feels a little off, given that you lose momentum when using it - meaning if you're trying to use it to cross a gap, you sometimes just smack into the wall and drop. Not sure if that was just a "me" problem, though, so it might just be my timing never lined up right.

All in all though a really fun little speedy platform game! I'm not much for speedrunning strats and such, but this one is quite fun. Definitely a pretty solid proof of concept.

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed. Once you nail the dash, the movement gets more fun.

Okay, Okay, need some time to get used to controls and movement, but yeah, I can feel it)
Definitely there is an urge to dash more often, haha) Great job!

Developer

Yea the dash is really fun. Makes you super fast.

It was interesting, but I am apparently bad at jump-dashing lol, got like 4 or 5 levels in and just kept failing 😅

I liked the time ghost concept, but some of the jumps were pretty tough.  Kept jumping too short and hitting the edge or making it and falling off the edge of the railing.

Don't worry, there are 5 levels total. You almost won!

Submitted

Ah lol I gave up at the finish line I think 🤣

Not another time ghost game! Just kidding, seriously the art looks fantastic and game plays great.

Glad you enjoyed

I tried about 30 times, but I couldn't clear even the level 1 (sigh)
But I really enjoyed the idea behind, and the overall design. Great work!!

Developer(+1)

Make sure you are using sprint! Check the speedrun too if you want to see the strats :)

Honestly one of the most visually appealing games I've played so far, I thought the mechanics were super cool!
Bro all your art is PEAKK!!! I found some levels to be a little janky but like.. so is my game hahaha

If you get the time please check out my game!!

Developer

You gotta thank @Pexilz, our artist for that. He made it all. I will certainly check out your game now!

LOVE this but my game kept on resetting the level when I get to the door and I had like 2 seconds left.

Developer

Can you try to recreate that bug and tell me specifically how you did? I'd like to patch it out if possible. This was not one that we found in development.

Submitted

i have no clue, I would just walk up to the door and 50% of the time I just got reset, the Other it was fine.

Developer

Huh, odd. Let me try to recreate it. Thanks for the response. Glad you otherwise enjoyed it!
