I think devs mistakenly added one more 0 to the spike hog's hp. that thing is tanky af
Really fun game! gameplay feels polished and satisfying, and I loved characters. Great job!
Nice game!. I had issues playing it because of the size of my screen. (that is what I see in full screen)
It remind me of mechabellum for some reason. I would have been good if some enemies had some sort of pathfinding as some of my units ignored some enemies. Good job overall
Thanks for checking out the game & sorry about the issue with the resolution. We haven't done many web browser games & didn't know what the optimal resolution to put for the game. There's unfortunately some bugs with the pathing for the bots due to not getting a chance to polish the system with the time. We appreciate the feedback & it helps to understand on how to improve the game & future game projects.
Cool concept, it's difficult to read the card descriptions in the game, but there is a lot of potential here. Great job with the art as well
neat concept! it might be nice if there was a mechanic that rewarded the player for units left alive- bonus money or other boons- but i get that you were using the money counting down as part of the theme. i liked the character designs- they kinda reminded me of sega genesis sonic enemies. good work :o]
Glad you enjoyed the game, we wanted to implement more in the overall gameplay loop, but the time made it hard. Like the idea of bonus money or other boons. It could of been more possible with the shop idea we had. Unfortunately we didn't have the time to setup a shop scene for in-between matches. Also thanks for appreciating the character designs, many of them were designed by zoby & I drew them as the main artist for the game. It's also nice that you noticed the retro inspirations of the sega genesis for the characters.
Not sure if it's intentional but I cleared every level just by using the spike hogs... It says that they had low HP but I feel like they could tank quite a lot of hits. I like all the design of the robots, and besides the spike hogs, their design communicates their stats pretty well. I think there could've been more time to contribute to the theme of the jam, there is a countdown at the start of every match and the amount of money is also going down, but I think there could've been more features like the HP of the robots going down for example, as if their battery is limited. There could've also been more sfx put into each action of the robots, any sfx would be much better than hearing silence as they're doing their attacks.
Not intentional with the spike hogs, unfortunately we didn't get time to playtest all the robots. We focused on fixing big bugs that were prevented, but I understand we didn't get a chance to polish away all the issues. We also didn't get a chance to implement details we intended to have in the game. More Sfx, unused music tracks, & unused animations.
Great artwork and the bot placement is very satisfying. I love autobattlers and this has a good feel about it.
I'd maybe add some simple path finding or indicate the range somehow I placed my hogs to close and they got sniped [*]
Looks like you didn't have time to fully finish. Would have been an awesome game if you improved it I suppose. My tidbits: 1. letting my opponents win made the game not continue, I was just stuck in that match. 2. Showing how many rounds you have left would be great (as other people have already said). I don't think anyone else did this genre of having a limited quantity of resource, and having to stretch it to the very end.
Sorry about the issues of the game like having a way to easily restart or retry a match & also a indicator for the current match & how many future matches are left. Thanks for the advice and we plan to improve things with the game and address certain things for an improved version of the game concept in the future.
It might become repetitive, but it's true---the art work is sick! Gameplay is fun with these cuties too. <3
I lovey artwork in my opinion .. crazy you made these characters in such a tight timeline !
Very fun game! Great art, lovely (deadly) animals. Fitting music, great execution of the theme. All in all a great great!
I saw it already mentionend, but the hog is way to tanky for "low health" xD But I understand, there was no time for perfect balancing of course.
Also something I saw happening is that, if your robot has no enemy in front of them, they will just walk until the end of the arena and stay there afk while there might still be a robot on a different "lane".
Also I would love to see those stats inside the game, and not only in the comments :)
Anyway, I really enjoyed that game! Keep it up!
Thanks for playing the game, sorry about the bugs. We didn't get enough time to test & balance the robots. The hog is quite strong & unintended to be that tanky, lol. Also we originally was gonna have a shop in-between matches that displayed the robots with their stats. But didn't have time to setup a shop scene unfortunately.
