The story art was very beautiful and the gameplay was fun. Great job! My only complaint is that the controls felt a bit unresponsive. Maybe if you kept moving while holding the button it would've helped.
Laika <3
I beat the game and played a couple of rounds of endless to unlock the remaining upgrades. The controls felt a little clunky at first, with no input buffering or hold-to-move, but with increased speed upgrades this became less of a problem over time. The dash was the worst upgrade I bought, as it broke the regular movement flow just enough for it to be annoying :') on the other hand, the jump and wrap around mechanic was really neat! It was fun zooming around the map quickly that way. I enjoyed my playthrough :D
Good stuff!
Really cool game with an addictive gameloop, played way to long xD
Nice art and sound design as well
Really fun, very enjoyable. I'm sad to admit i got super invested and played for a little too long!
Simple, nice looking and Sad!?
Smooth gameplay and upgrades that make a ton of sense as u progress the levels.
Great work!
CUTE
beautiful game!!
This is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I love the art, the music, the theming of Laika (rip). When the game first booted up I was expecting a methodical, puzzley, turn based sort of game, but what it turned out to be instead was a lot of fun. I really liked what a frantic experience the game develops into, and wow there's a lot of upgrades.
I kinda wish I could just hold a button to travel in that direction instead of mashing, but I guess that adds to the frantic-ness. I also like how movement metas develop as the game goes on, like how jumping isn't just a way around obstacles but also acts as a movement speed increase when you use it properly, and map wrapping just breaks the game wide open, haha!
The short little narrative you included is very sweet as well, and it makes sense that it would have a bittersweet conclusion.
the art work is stunning, i love it
The art style made the impact on the first place, then came the great use of the sweetest dog Laika, and then the levels, progression, already spend the most time playing and went till the lava level so stopped to give review first, the Upgrade system is so good and those little increments make each run rewarding, wanting to play more to be better. Loved it totally, so well made!!!!!
Take a look at mine as well, will love to read what do you think. Cheers :)
Art strikes first but the gameplay was surprisingly fun as I there were micro decisions to be made frequently such as routing, timing, ... Really nice entry!
This was so cute, charming and addictive! Good job getting a relatively well balance skill tree in such a short space of time too. Unfortunately the game broke for me when I completed the first planet and I lost my progress but even so, I had a lot of fun and would love to revisit it in the future.
I love the cutscenes and main idea. Music also bangs, how did you use fmod to make it adaptive like that?
Hey, thanks for playing our game! I'm glad you liked the music.
I composed two musics for the game: one for upgrade/cutscene and another for gameplay. Both of them can loop in itself, but I added a transition region to change between each other. This transition is triggered by a parameter and will wait between the end of the measure/bar to make the transition.
I love the artwork! The gamplay is satisfactory and fun. Unfortunately I found a bug when I got 10 crystals at the same time the timer ran out and the game froze on a screen. Overall it's a nice game!
Art in this game is very good, but the gameplay actually wasn't the best and the ui isn't the best too. But good job
I like the idea and the artworks are great! Gameplay feels stiff though, nice game!
