I had fun! I assume the room with no portal is the last room, I got there with a full 1:04 :)
Tanks for playing and sharing your score! It is the last level, but there is a solution to it. When designing it, we already thought it might be a bit too hard. If you are interested, there is a solution video in the description. Here a hint: we introduced collapsable platforms earlier.
ooh 0_0 I see
The player physics are kind of awkward, like the hitbox feels like it's round and you'll just slide off the edge of corners. The grappling hook doesn't work the way I'd expect it to
Hang on, (haha get it) this game is a good speedrun game! I had a little bit of trouble with the grappling hook, and I like how jumping whilst grappling gives a boost in vertical velocity. However, I would say this game is pretty well made and polished. I think if I was skilled enough at this, I would definitely have a lot of fun trying to speedrun this game, but I still had fun during my run anyways!
That's a really good game, one small thing i noticed is that if you don't jump at all and the jump in the air, you have 2 air jumps, i recommend to not make the normal jump only possible when the player's touching the ground...
Good work! I would try to make the controls a bit less floaty and sluggish, the countdown timer makes it more important to feel faster I think. but that would mean tweaking times too. Just noting if continuing this one.
very solid platformer game and i loved playing it. i wish there was more mechanics to the game though and though the timer implementation was good i wish it was just a bit more creative. however i loved the gameplay and playing the game so its allll funso
This is a really neat game! The grapple hook was challenging and sometimes I found the spike colliders a little unforgiving, but I like the concept, especially having to move forward and being punished for hesitating I thought was a good idea. Good job!
Cool game, loved the art. The grappling hook is a cool mechanic
Cool idea of a platformer bound by time! I've just struggled a bit with the grappling hook mechanic. Funny thing is that I had a grappling hook in my game, but mid-jam I got rid of it because of the bugs and stress of not getting it to "feel right". I couldn't manage to even get it working properly, congrats on having implemented it!
Quite a platformer! I struggle a bit with the grappling hook feature, I'm not sure when it's going to shorten or lengthen the rope. Because of that I didn't manage to pass the big climb with spikes on the wall. But it's great work. Love the atmosphere and the gameplay. Congrats!
Thanks for playing and you feedback!
Mastering the mechanic is a bit of a challenge. The hook is based on the initial momentum of the player. I used it always as help to get higher after the first jump. Basically jump -> hook -> second jump, this should give all the momentum needed to complete the game.
We also included a solution video in the description in case that helps.
very challenging! grappling hook feels pretty good to use, and although losing the countdown can be a bit unforgiving it's a solid game!
it is hard but the difficulty here amplifies the game
It's a good concept, movement are a bit wanky but when you get used is funny to speedrun it :D
Thanks for playing on stream. It was great to get feedback on our submission AND actually see someone react to the game.
Hey, fun game though I found the grappling a bit difficult to use (but you can say the same of my game hahah).
The idea to change the way the timer runs depending on the player's moves is really good ! The art is nice and I like the atmosphere :-)
I didn't have sound I don't know if I'm the only one to have this problem ?
Hey, thanks for the feedback :) Actually, there should be sound, but I think the problem was that we fine-tuned the volume based on Windows 100%. I guess most people do not actually have their volume set that high hahahaha
Ohhhh yeah that's why then. I run on Linux and if I push the sound above 35% usually my ears die. I tried with sound at 100% and I can hear it a bit but the volume is still very low. Just FWI, otherwise I like your game :)
I like how the speed of the countdown varies based on if you're moving/moving backwards. Fun game.
Scratches a proper speedrunning itch that made me come back after finishing the first time! Grappling hook takes a bit of getting used to but starts to really flow well once you get the hang of it!
Thanks for the feedback. Great to hear you succeeded!
Nice concept !
I just struggled a little bit to understand the click action, but it was fun, great job !
Coooooool
Awesome game. Enjoyed playing!
Nice game , I beat it too I beat it with 46 seconds and after 25 retries.
Hey thanks! This is our first time taking part in a game jam, and I have to say that someone plays our game, actually beats it, and then shares their time means a lot!!!
Thanks for playing and sharing feedback! Also my first Jam submission, great feeling that someone enjoyed the game and beat it! Hope the last level was not too frustrating.
I actually got to the last level twice but the first time I had too little time so by the time I got to the dead end and realized that I got tricked the timer ended so the second time I came ready lol.
