Oh thanks, that's nice :D

Hey, thanks a lot for the detailed reply ! I'm learning Godot so it's interesting to understand a bit more about how other people work. I think I see (broadly) how the knockback works but I think I would have needed a lot more time to do something like that. Your team rocks ! :D
Feel free to message me if/when you upload a new version of your game, I'll be happy to play again !
Hi, thanks ! I'm on my phone right know but I'll have a look on the evening (it's noon here).
I made a new version of the game taking into account everyone's comments and solving bugs, I'll uploaded it when the jam ends. If you liked the game come back, you'll get a better version (with dialogues you can read, a path clearly indicated and a level completely rebuilt and reorganized).
Thank you :D Duly noted for the dialogue, I think you're the second or third person to tell me that. In the next version the screen filter is removed from the dialogue scenes to make them more readable. And if you want another similar challenge, the level is entirely rebuilt for the future deployment after the jam ends !
Hi, thanks a lot !
A bunch of people told me about the grain end bugs (I had solved but uploaded the wrong version T_T) and other things that could be improved. I will work on it tomorrow and release an improved version when the jam is over, so if you have more advice you want to share or want to come back try the new version after the jam ends I'll be happy to get your feedback again !
Also, I'm a learning solo dev so feedback helps a lot and motivates me. So your compliment makes me very happy and motivated to do more :D
Thanks ! And sorry for the bugs, they were solved but I left the wrong version on Itch and didn't notice before it was too late T___T Sad but true lesson to learn: triple-check everything before considering things are done. If you like the game come back after the jam, I made a list of everyone's advice and am re-working the game so you have a non-bugged, funnier version to play in the end. It also helps me make progress so if you have things to change in mind (apart from the bugs, they're solved) feel free to express yourself !
Thank you ! I was so hyped by your comments that I already did a third of the planned changes but I had other things planned for today and this evening so... I'm just excited about tomorrow. Thanks again, your comments are a perfect example of why I want to do a lot of jams in a row to learn fast during the next few months :D
I love your game <3 It's so cute. And relaxing, and fun, and the difficulty twists for each recipe is well balanced. The use of count-downs to trigger abilities automatically works so well. Also, cute animals and food are at least half of the meaning of life, hence it's great when they're in games too. It makes a change from fight/combat/power stuff. And the music works so well with the game's atmosphere too :)
In addition, everything works well, which is difficult to do in a 4-days jam so you scoped your game very well, coded it well... I'm amazed ! You did not write a story so I dont put 5 stars everywhere but as a global mark I still want to give you a 20/20.
Wow thanks a million for the detailed list, I really appreciate !
In the full version I wanted to upload the bugs were solved and I added panels to show the way to the player and when they should use the air dash. I lowered the camera zoom a bit too so you can see more platforms (especially the ones you have to let yourself fall on, so you know a bit more where you're going).
I'll take your advice for the coyote time and air-physics, though I'm still new to that so I'm not sure I'll do it right ^^
As for the walls, I used a premade tileset but maybe I could modify their colors in aseprite to make the distinction between walls and floor easier to read ? Do you think that would work ?
Finally, in terms of building the level, thanks a lot for your insight. I've never built a platformer before so I was a bit like "hmmm, let's try this and that". I have no experience at game design or anything so I think I'll try what you said.
If anything else come to your mind please write back, I'll be working on improvements on the game tomorrow !
I'm so sorry about this - and angry at me for not re-checking I had the right version on time while I still had 2 hours ahead of me. Lesson taught and learnt.
I've made a list of people's advice and I'm planning to work on it to improve things a bit again tomorrow, so if you want to add some advice or things you'd like to see in the game feel free to make a list too ^^ Dialogue things noted, the other bugs don't exist anymore in the version I thought I'd uploaded.
The invisible character thing and freeze was due to the level being instantiated a second time after dialogue closed, without freeing the previous instance. It was easy to solve but yeah, shitty bug sorry again !
Thank you ! It's not my final version of it I just realized, so if you want a slightly better version feel free to come back once the jam is over. I'll upload the version I wanted and that wasn't correctly loaded on Itch T_T
Also, I'm going to eat and rest now but I have opened your game in a new tab for my next jam-games session ;-)
Thanks for the feedback :-)
There's a bunch of people that were annoyed by the screen effect and others who liked it so I think I'll add a way to toggle it after the jam is over.
I'm very sensitive to noise too so I get your point on that, I'll lower the music volume in the next version and see if I take the time to add an audio settings feature so you can customize it so it fits your taste.
(I'll play your game too but I have to go to eat and rest, so it will probably be tomorrow sorry !)
Hi, thanks ! Yeah I think if you don't know the game by heart you can't finish it without using this ability ^^
Do you have an idea of how I could improve the platforming a bit ? I'm doing several jams in a row to gain experience then I'm planning to improve all the games I made for the jams, so any advice is welcome, whether it's coding, game-design, or whatever that can improve the way I do the games.
I will add a toggle button or a settings menu to enable/disable the screen effect I think, I'm not good enough at writing shaders to make the text more readable and still keep the shader on ^^ I tried to disable the shader for dialogues only but I found it very awkward to change between the two, it felt unnatural.
Oh ok, I'll try it on Windows too when i've finished trying the games of people who commented the game. I'm sorry for the problem, I'll try to look into it. I'm coding and playing on Linux so maybe there's something different on how it builds the game. I thought it wasn't an issue when it runs on browser though :'(
Hey, fun game though I found the grappling a bit difficult to use (but you can say the same of my game hahah).
The idea to change the way the timer runs depending on the player's moves is really good ! The art is nice and I like the atmosphere :-)
I didn't have sound I don't know if I'm the only one to have this problem ?
Yeah I'm sorry I fixed these things in the latest version like 2 hours before the jam ended but sadly itch didn't detect this new version I don't know why. I'll put it online once the jam is over if you want to give it a try, I'm sorry T_T
I had also added hints as to how you can get to the end of the level but well, it will be here after the jam ends.
I think I'll also set the screen effect as an option that people can disable. If you want to avoid the explosion bug, press R to respawn when you see you're going to die and you'll be able to play the game 'till the end.
Hey, the idea is nice but I found the music and rhythm a bit repetitive and I was sooo disappointed to die ouf time-out after all the effort against the boss :'( (he had like 10% health left).
But the art and idea is nice, the game works well and I think I haven't seen another rhythm game yet in the jam so yeay !
Hahahah I love the idea, art, audio. It kind of makes me think of Untitled Goose Game even if it's not the same of course. I just found it difficult once I got near the balloon-castle because I couldnt see myself and wasn't sure what I was doing. Also still haven't found what I should do when I get there but I'll try again lmao
Hey, fun and original idea and gameplay ! The art and music are really cool too. And I'm curious about how you coded the hand's behaviour o_o
As was said by others, I think I would have been better at the game if there was a way to make ready before the count-down actually starts as the time-window is very short, and being able to restart where you last lost would be more satisfying.
Hi, same thing here. I also really enjoy the art, atmosphere, game mechanics... It's fun ! But same, I couldn't stun the shielded enemy either. Could it be related to the fact I'm playing on Linux and maybe the game runs slightly differently here ? But as it's in brower I'm not so sure. I don't know if you're also on a different OS @Tylobop ?
