This game is interesting! I understand the premise and what to do almost straight away and the tasks are intuitive. I like the art (simple yet good) and the audio is alright.

A few changes I would suggest:

- how can you tell if a food has been boiled vs if it is raw? perhaps add a timer to tell when it is done + a "cooked" effect (like is it browner, I know is not really realistic for boiling lol but it's something)

- maybe some background music? it's just bubbles and it can get a *little* annoying

An overall fun game!

Thank you for playing and your feedback. You are right, there is much room for making it better. If we just had more time. XD

Sometimes a little confusing, but all in all consistent in playability. Would love some hover over in an update. Anyways, well done hehehe!

Great idea. I would like to see some indication of what is currently cooking in pot, plus some additional animations for cutting, but as for a game jam, it's great, well done!

Thanks for playing and your feedback. :)

There is never enough time for all features that could be implemented. XD

very stressful but i liked it! I agree with a previous comment that having a timer with each number would be good :D

Cooking theme fits very well with the jam's theme.

The game is a bit confusing. Maybe the timers could be just "1,2,3,4" positions that represent a duration, instead of specific seconds. It's hard to know where is the 8 and the 11 with the current design of the timer.

As other comments say, it's weird that the food will be always sliced after boiled it.

Another detail is the countdown of the dish quality sometimes is shorter thant the time of boiling a vegetable, so it's made "impossible" to accomplish. I know that I could boiling the vegetables in advance, but without a hint of what there is inside the pot you have to play memo game 😅

A part of these details, the game is playable and after I completed some orders, the game was more easy to play.
Good job

I don't know what I will do until I see the orders and everything starts to make sense. It's a simple but fun game to play!

Developer

Haha thanks. Yes the pressure of countdown starts from the first second. XD

cool simple cooking game! it could benefit from a little instruction from the beginning, but it wasn't too hard to get the hang of so not a big deal, nice work!

Fun, the cooking mechanic is well put together! Nice execution!

Really fun idea, at first I was overwhelmed but figured out a good flow. There do seem to be some issues though, when placing a whole vegetable in the pot it comes out chopped (but doesn't seem to actually count as chopped), and some of the menu items ask for boiled unchopped items so it gets confusing. I also found I could pre fill the pots with unchopped vegetables and keep going without losing health while still accumulating points. Other than that it is a good concept and fits great with the theme.

Thanks for playing the game! Yes the cooked vegetables should have had a another asset but we didn't have the time for polishing it. XD
