This is very impressive for a first game. The background art is beautiful and the gameplay is alright. It does get repetitive fairly quickly, and I feel you could add some different speeds or sizes to mix up the planets. Still fun though.
Thanks a lot for playing and reviewing!!! Yes, I'll definitely add variations to keep the gameplay interesing in the future
Not bad especially for your first game with a 96 hour deadline no less. I'm surprised you're the first game I've seen utilize a space theme considering how famous the countdown for shuttle launches are. The game itself is kinda fun but gets boring pretty quickly. I like that the amount of planets become smaller and are more spread out but the difficulty doesn't really change. Something like moving planets, smaller planets, moving obstacles etc but you'll get there when you do. There's also a UI bug where either the camera is too high or too zoomed in but it fixes itself after the second launch. Also I did a double take when I saw you got your rocket asset from pinterest, I have no clue how you did that.
Thanks a lot for playing and the review!! That's awesome feedback, you are right... I'll definitely implement these changes and fixes... Yeah I got the rocket asset from pintereset, I downloaded the image, then I used https://www.piskelapp.com/ to draw, and created a sprite, one with fire and one without. Yeah I know that's prolly bad practice, but I really liked that free rocket image lol. Anyhow, thanks for playing!!
A very creative take on the theme, though a little uninteresting after a while of play. I enjoyed that later you'd have fewer planets to choose from. A good way you could have spiced it up a bit was to include planets of different sizes with varying orbital speeds.
Multiple times, when I full screened the UI broke... you may want to do some bug fixing with that after the jam is over.
Thank you so much for playing and your review. Thank you for the feedback!! I'll definitely include all of those points later on, and I will also fix the bugs while on fullscreen, I had only optimized it for the default size lol... Anyways I appreciate the review!!
Liked the background starry ✨✨ vybe and liked the simple background audio ❣️🔥
Thank you the review🫶 I hope to make better games in the future
Art style is amazing!
Thank you 😊 🫶
Congrats on finishing your first game! It’s a great start and is fun for what it is.
To make the gameplay even more engaging, you might want to look into adding a few more player decisions. Right now, it plays a bit like a rhythm game where you just need to tap the button at the right time. Because players can launch almost immediately, the timer does not have much of an impact. Giving the player a reason to wait or weigh their options could help make the timer feel more meaningful. It would also be cool to see some differences between the three planets to make that choice feel like it matters.
Lastly, adding some simple sound effects, especially for launching and landing the rocket, would go a long way in making the game feel more immersive. In any case, I hope you continue making games :)
That's an awesome review, thank you😊. I'll definitely add those things in the future!
Addicting Game! Love It!
Thank you for playing, it means a lot🫶
When i opened the tutorial in fullscreen it made the spaceship invisible afterwards but in window mode it worked :)
I really appreciate the optic and the sound design, planets could probably rotate a bit faster by the time but still a nice concept!
Woah thanks for playing and the feedback, i really appreciate it🫶. I will fix the bug, I apologise for missing it. I didn't think I'd get rated as this is the first game I've developed😁
That as your first game is crazy! Especially the visuals, gj.
And i guess everybody gets at least a few ratings here as there are enough people filtering by "least ratings" when playtesting 👍
Thank you😊 I hope to make better games in the future
