Great sound design! I like how the background music flows smoothly from one puzzle to the next. However, I think a tutorial wouldn't hurt. I only figured out what to do by the third puzzle :D

Such a great puzzle game! I got stuck at 15:47 but hope I can finish this game. Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much! (You can beat it, I belieeeve in you!!)

I eventually able to reach 00:00. Such a cool game! Enjoyed a lot.

Developer(+1)

If you do chose to give it a shot, you can use end to skip back to where you were (or past it if you want to have a go at the last three levels, you're very close to the end.

If you want, I could also provide a hint.

This is amazing. The atmosphere on this game is really well done,  through the great music and the moody monochrome pointilist backgrounds. I can't believe this concept hasn't been done before, and you excecuted it perfectly. The puzzles are really hard but rewarding, and the art in the background updating as time progresses is a really cool way to tell a narrative. The only thing I would have liked is an in game tutorial but I figured it out pretty quickly. Great entry!

Thank you so much for playing!! When we were first planning things out we bounced off a bunch of ideas until we came across this one and had a bit of and aha moment. It was really fun to see the team behind the puzzles at work and see how their brains work, Elric did a fantastic job with the art and I was listening to Garrett's music all throughout development lol. We're definitely going to be looking at how to get people familiar with the mechanics early on for future iterations though. We're so glad you had a great time :D

love me a good puzzle game, got difficult very fast, i liked how the background interacted with your actions that was very cool

Developer

Thank you so much for playing!! When the idea for the background came up we knew we had to implement it immediately lol. Elric created some beautiful scenes for it so it was amazing seeing it all put together. We're glad you enjoyed!

A quick round tutorial is what is needed, but once you get the hand of the mechanic it does play well. Good concept !

Definitely was confusing to me at first trying to understand what exactly all the controls did, but figuring it out and being able to progress through the different levels was really satisfying (and I guess immersive in a way aha). The art, music, and concept all really complement each other and I loved seeing how the world changed as you continued. Really awesome job!!

Good game! The countdown theme was really straightforward but it was still a concept that executes it in a fresh way.  Also this one is a real thinker, I had to genuinely focus to progress through levels and I really appreciate a game that makes me do that! Plus, the theming of like an ominous doomsday countdown is super cool, the progression of the art in the background supports that very nicely. Nice work!!

It's impressive just how many high quality puzzles are packed into this game! Most of the levels gave me the classic puzzle game bait-and-switch: they laid out a set of tools that led me to a seemingly simple false start before I discovered a more clever trick that actually solved the level. And despite the complexity of some puzzles, they're all still built on fundamental mechanics that anyone can understand.

Developer(+1)

So kind of you to say--the boys really threw themselves into the puzzle design on this one; it's great that the intended feel came across. The team had a lot of fun ambushing one another with the really devious ones. They were challenging to make, but maybe even more challenging to organize into a cohesive progression.

Very tricky but rewarding puzzle game. Everything works together well, the overall atmosphere is heavy but well crafted. You guys did a fantastic job!

Submitted(+1)

I really liked the puzzles. Had to leave so I skipped to the end from around 20:~ to the end, but a lot of the puzzles where very satisfying to solve. The music also goes well, I think that at some points it gets something extra added but I couldn't tell. And I love the art style.
It truly feels like an original idea, very well executed

Garrett had a lot of the tracks in the same key and tempo, but there are in fact 10 distinct tracks. He also did all the sound effects. Elric killed it on the art, I think he did something like 85 of those in the 4 days.
Super happy to hear you liked the mechanic and the puzzles, I'm really proud of what we did. Thanks for checking the game out.

Yeah you guys did a killing job here. Oh I felt the clicking base was the same but the arrangements were different, glad I wasn't imagining it

Developer

Hey thanks! Glad you enjoyed the game! And yes, the music is all written to the same BPM so it seamlessly fades from one track to the next as you progress.

Really well designed puzzle game, completing the levels was satisfying, they weren't too hard or too easy. Interestingly, it took me almost exactly an hour to beat it lol.

Developer(+1)

Goal achieved. And you've given me an idea... we could make the levels harder if the time jump was bigger...

It was a bit hard to read the digit, or some of them, for me at least.

Greatttttttt visual, Not sure about the clock sound effect, make the game stressfull when it dosn't have to be i feel like

And loves the quotes, realy feat the vibes you created with this game!

Congrats

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your kind words! The combination of music, visuals, and the little phrases was our approach to storytelling. we were trying to build a certain progression of tone and concepts. If we had more time it would have been cool to expand this into something a little more concrete to give more motivation to the puzzles. Maybe you get stuck on a hard puzzle but power through it because you want to see what the next scene and story beat is. :D

Took me a while to figure out the system of this game but once i did it was super fun. I also love how many puzzles there are! Great work

Submitted(+1)

Looks amazing and the puzzles are challenging, but doable

Developer

That's always the hope--always want to achieve that feeling of challenging but fair with satisfying solutions.

Submitted(+1)

ok this is AMAZING I desperately wish I was smart enough to figure these out but the concept and take on the theme is super clever and unique

great sound work as well

Developer(+1)

Many thanks, and don't be so hard on yourself. I played your game and it was obviously something made by a smart and talented person.

Really nice, even though I am not the biggest puzzle game enjoyer :D The art and progressive music are great.
One thing I would suggest adding in the future is a bit of tutorialization at the start. Also at first I was not very sure what can be clicked and what not, but figured it out after some time... maybe some more obvious highlighting of what can be selected would be nice? (but also did not read the description first, bit of a thing I try to see how far I can get without help xD)
But overall really solid, good job :D

Developer

So good to hear that--the dream is always to have non-enjoyers of the project genre enjoy the game.

We all agreed with the tutorialization feedback. We got a little cramped on time toward the end and on the size of the puzzle suite, but who knows, maybe for a full version...

Fantastic job with this. Clever and beautiful, and it fits the theme so nicely

Great game! The art, audio and puzzles are all perfect to me.

One of the best in the jam I've played so far. Absolutely love the concept and style and the puzzles are fresh and challenging. Excellent work everyone! All it's lacking is a save and level select because the puzzles are a bit too hard for me to want to solve them all back to back in one sitting.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks so much! So glad you enjoyed it!

Apologies about losing your progress! We had hoped to have time to implement a level select or something like that, but we had to focus on other things to finish on time. There is a (secret?) way to bypass levels so you can make it back to where you left off if you check the description on the game page.

Developer(+1)

So glad you found it worthwhile. There is some impressive stuff in here, so what a compliment.

We were originally going to have some sort of puzzle select feature that would have gotten more or less the functionality you wanted, but unfortunately it got left behind. Just game jam things! :)

Interesting little puzzle game! I like the stippling art in the backgrounds, it creates a cool atmosphere

Developer

I had a blast making the drawings--so happy you enjoyed.
