How does your game fit the theme?
"Justice Is Blank" puts the player as a supporter to a defense attorney in a court of law, interpreting "counts" as in counts of criminal charges. Your goal is thus to "get the counts down" for as many clients as you can; you do this by optimizing points in order to count the numeric value representing the strength of each case down from full to zero.

Great interpretation of the theme, and the artwork is truly amazing! The concept of the game itself hooked me, and I’ll definitely be going back to this even after this jam is over.

Congratulations on finishing the jam!

Developer

wow!! such kind comments, thank you so much!! we're planning on pushing some fixes after the jam, so hopefully the experience will be even better :))

One of the most unique and hilarious experiences i've had playing a game. Brilliant on every level. easily 5 stars on every category.

Thank you! That's what we set out to do, we're so glad it brought you some laughs and joy!

Hey! You made it make sense!

I'm absolutely in love with this, I think if you can make it so the words actually matter more this could be an amazing couch game with friends at a party!

Developer

Aw, what a fantastic compliment!! I think you've hit on something with the social component there for sure; I've definitely had my fun watching friends play this one like a mini party-game so we can laugh at the ridiculous sentences that get made and cheer over big combos, so you're definitely onto something! Thank you so much <3

What a creative use of the theme. You guys did a great job!!!

Developer

Thank you!! <3

this is such an awesome spin on the theme. I wish there were some way to modify what sticky notes you get since it felt random. it was nice being able to string huge combos together and such an impressive game for the time frame. congrats to the team.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you so much! We're so glad you enjoyed our take on the theme. Totally with you on the sticky note manipulation; dream version of this game as we threw around in the brainstorming phase would have included some deckbuilding (vocab building?) and even some special card effects for even more combo-y goodness. It's great to hear this version could still achieve some of that same number-go-up satisfaction for you!

Such a great little game!  I just love the idea of an ant lawyer with a briefcase of words it doesn't fully understand.  It was a bit buggy in fullscreen (stopped any of the mouse actions from working) but in windowed mode it worked just fine so not sure what that was about.  Loved it anyway!

Developer(+1)

Hehe, thank you!! It's tough out here in the big leagues when you're a tiny little ant... its little ant attorney brain can only store so much linguistic information...... </3

This is an adorable concept! The art is unique, the soundtrack is fitting, the ui is snappy. I was expecting to have issues getting the stickynotes in the boxes but the collisions were on point. My only feedback is being able to reorganize the stickynotes instead of snapping them back to position. What a cute game!

Developer (2 edits) (+1)

Aw, thank you so much!! That's a great point of feedback for game-feel -- definitely would be one of the next items on our wishlist too. So glad to hear the rest of the pieces fit together well for you nevertheless!

A really funny game with exceptionally good presentation. Reminds me of those little stories where you choose a bunch of words and then compile them into a complete story with hilarious results. Great stuff.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!! So glad we could make you laugh :D

Submitted(+2)

It is a very polished game with good game mechanics.

Developer

Thank you! :]

S+ tier theme with just a delightful soundtrack and artistic flare for the animal-noir vibe. Only nit I had was that I wanted the drag/drop boxes to be bigger, I kept missing the drop locations for the words, but that was super minor. I really loved making wacky sentences and trying to avoid JAIL.

Developer

thank you so much!!! what an amazing compliment! we'll definitely take that into consideration when we revisit it post-jam :p

ant attorney really is trying his best...

The game has a really beautiful style. It's a little hard to form coherent sentences sometimes, but the idea is great!

Developer

from one of the artists, THANK YOU SO MUCH!! we'll definitely be revisiting it to make a few edits after the voting period is over. we're so happy you enjoyed :))

Awesome art style, has lots of character. Gameplay feels a bit simplistic. Would have been nice to have to engage with the actual sentence a bit more, like having it read aloud at the end of each round or something. Also got the "not enough words to fill the sentence" bug.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! We have patched that bug, and will upload the new build once the rating period is over

Submitted(+3)

What a lovely art style, and a funny idea. Seems there are some minor issues to be worked out with the amount of words you get etc, seems you can get stuck at the moment. But all in all this is great!

Developer(+1)

We're so glad you enjoyed! Thank you for playing!

Submitted(+2)

amazing presentation, so much style. I was given a sentence without enough words to fill it in tho lol

Developer (1 edit)

We're glad you liked it, we spent a lot of time trying to make everything play nicely! Unfortunately there is a bug with the redrawing... We have fixed it and will submit the new version once the rating period is over

Submitted(+3)

incredible art & aesthetic! everything plays so smoothly. i really enjoyed this & i think this is one of the most unique takes on the theme i've seen.

Developer

Thank you so much! When one of our team members came up with the idea, we knew it was just crazy enough it might work!

Submitted(+3)

Really cool art! The idea was very interesting, and lead to some interesting sentences :)

Developer

Some very interesting sentences indeed haha! Thanks for playing!
