Very nice animations and artwork!

Developer

Thank you!

Hi man. What engine did you guys use? The game looks stunning and the sounds are nice. Deep and growly. I am stuck on the second level :( is there something obvious i am missing ;D Other than that. Great job and thank you for making this :)

Developer

We used Unreal Engine 4.23 since that was the last version with out of the box HTML5 exports. Second level seems to be a bit tricky for a lot of people but the way i did it was jump->jump->red gem->jump->dash->purple gem->dash. Thanks for the praise.

AMAZING artwork and level design, when you pull it off its really satisfying, my only real gripes are

1. the character control is a bit finnicky, it feels too floaty and slippery (in my opinion, it might be a conscious choice)

2. its not always clear where you can step and where you can't

nice job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback. I agree the controls are floaty since I basically just set the movement parameters at the start and worked around them.  As for the telegraphing of where you can and can't step I think I went a bit overboard with hiding the jaw traps.

Love the art, and love the mechanics, but I totally cannot get past the second level :')
Maybe the difficulty could do with some tweaking?

Developer(+1)

Yeah in hindsight, I seem to have balanced it around what I was able to do, which makes the difficulty curve too steep. Unfortunately I can't update the game during the voting period, but the feedback is appreciated.

Art and game look great! For some reason when I try to dash it just freezes me in place in the air.

Developer(+1)

The dash requires an A/D input during it otherwise a neutral dash just kills your momentum. A little bit unintuitive but it lets you momentum cancel. I will say that none of the levels require a neutral dash so it's easiest to hold A/D while dashing.

I really love the concept and the art. The animations are really good. I can't tell if I'm doing something wrong on the second level because it won't let me dash twice? I would love to play more of the game.

Developer

The red gem resets your double jump and the purple one resets your dash. The way I did it was jump, jump, red gem, jump, dash, purple gem, dash. I think you actually dont need the second dash if you space out the jumps and first dash.

Woops, that's it! Was a skill issue on my part. I REALLY enjoyed this game and its concept. I would honestly pay for a full version of this game, have followed you, and updated my rating :)
I did also find a small glitch with the platforms that lets you break out of the map.

Developer

Thank you so much! Would you mind letting me know how to recreate the out of bounds glitch?

Submitted

I can't remember which exact level it was. If you jump onto it/just below a floating platform near the floor and it doesn't place you on top of the platform, it still moves down towards the floor and pushes you out of bounds.

The bear trap on the first level was evil! xD I didn't see it at first. Really cool looking art here. Good job!

Consider trying my game as well! Thank you!

Developer

Glad you liked it. Tried your game as well.
