I really liked it! The color palette includes my favorite colors, which made the game even more enjoyable for me. Well done! 👏

Developer

Thank you so much! That really means a lot. : )

I'm glad you enjoyed the game, and it's awesome to hear that the color palette includes your favorite colors!

Thanks again for playing and for the kind words.

I liked it, The 1 bit color palette was good, the controls were good, some sound effects and musics would be nice, there was also little incentive to move left or right, maybe add in some hazards you need to avoid while slaying birds :)

Good job!

Thanks!

I'm happy you liked the art style and the controls. : )

I also like your idea of adding hazards to encourage more movement.

Thanks again for the great suggestions and for taking the time to play. I really appreciate it, and I'm planning to keep improving the game after the jam!

I liked the all-red aesthetic, it fits the game really well. The core mechanic is fun, too.

The gameplay felt a bit repetitive after a while since there's only one type of enemy. I think adding some ground-based enemies could make the combat more varied.

Overall, keep working on it! I think this game has a lot of potential. :)

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked the all-red aesthetic and that you had fun with the core mechanic.

Adding ground-based enemies is actually one of the first ideas I want to explore after the game jam.

Thanks again for the kind words and the great suggestion! :)

Nice looking game! I like the concept.

Also I notice the bug about the score.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I'm really happy you liked the concept.

And yes, you're right about the score bug. I'll be fixing it as soon as the game jam is over. :>

Thanks for playing and for taking the time to report it, I do appreciate it!

I liked the artwork; it reminds me of the classic Atari-style games. Interesting prototype!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you liked the art style.

That Atari-inspired retro look was definitely one of the things I was aiming for, so it's awesome to hear it came across. There's still a lot I'd like to improve in the prototype, but I'm happy the visual style helped make it enjoyable.

Thanks for taking the time to play and leave a comment!

A blood thirsty sword is cool >:)

Sometimes, I'd fall through the platforms but enjoyed swiping at bats. Would love to see a land animal added!

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for playing! I'm happy you liked the bloodthirsty sword concept. >:)

Thanks for pointing out the platform issue too. I'll definitely investigate and fix that in the next version.

And I love the idea of adding a land enemy! Right now the bats help encourage jumping, but having enemies on the ground would make combat more varied and force the player to make more interesting decisions.

Thanks again for the feedback!

Good prototype. I hugely recommend you to add some music and sound effects, i think it is important. Sometimes platform's collitions doesn't works when player is falling. Good job and keep going!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for playing!

Thanks for pointing out the platform collision issue as well. I'll take a look into that bug and see what's causing the player to occasionally miss collisions while falling.

I really appreciate you taking the time to play and leave your thoughts. Thanks again, and all the best with your own projects!

Hey! That's an alright prototype. I didn't quite like the fact that you need to jump to slay enemies as is, but there's potential there. Like it's a cool idea potentially: if you are sorta choosing a jump trajectory to slash enemies on your way sorta bouncing off walls - that would be pretty neat!
Defo add some music, sfx and player feedback - that means A LOT to a player and best of luck in your future projects!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!

I'm glad you saw potential in the core idea. I agree that the current jump-to-attack mechanic still feels a bit rough, and I really like your suggestion of turning it into a more deliberate trajectory system where you chain attacks and bounce off walls. That's definitely something I'd love to explore further.

You're also absolutely right about the music, SFX, and player feedback. With the jam deadline I had to prioritize the core gameplay, but those are the first things I'd improve in a post-jam version.

Thanks again for taking the time to play and leave such constructive feedback. I really appreciate it!
