I'm pretty bad at it, but fun game nonetheless.

The game concept is really fun. Reading the instructions I was a bit worried it was going to be difficult, but it was actually very straight forward.
Fantastic work, well done!

Loved the game, its concept and the art. Having the condition makes the game more strategic and fun.

Thanks for playing!

Cool game! Mechanics wise it works really well and is smooth to play. The UI was most intuitive and I enjoyed all the little details like the way colors worked. The biggest thing this needed was more oomph behind moving things around and zeroing out numbers. The entire bottom lighting up red was a good start, but sound effects, moving parts with principles of animation would have done wonders. Great job.

Thanks for playing! This is my first videogame and I've learned a lot. I really want to improve my game making it more satisfying. Thanks for the feedback :)

Congrats on making your first game and submitting it to this Game Jam in such a short time! :D

The factory and card art style are really neat and the game idea itself is very creative. I love how you took a simple idea and added cool mechanics like the Workbench, Upgrades and also Conditions to restrict the solutions. That really elevated the gameplay and decision-making.

Just an idea that came to my mind regarding the energy bar: Since the setting is a factory and the cards are already placed on conveyor belts, I thought it could be interesting to actively control the conveyor belt left or right to reveal new cards (or empty spaces if they were already taken). Each movement could consume energy instead of it constantly draining, giving you more time to think about bigger combos. Maybe even a conveyor belt flush could be an option (as the current Upgrade).

I’d love to see more of this idea! Keep it up, you did a great job!  ;)

Developer(+1)

Hey, that's actually a great idea! Originally, I wanted the conveyor belt to randomly draw new cards throughout the game, but I found that a little frustrating. Your idea could be an interesting way to go back to my original idea. Thanks for trying out the game :)

Very nice theme realization. I like how player needs to countdown by themself, at substraction, to make sure that energy countdown doesn't at 0.

Developer

hehehe, thanks for playing!

It gets better the more time you play imo, or maybe I'm just not... the kind of person you'd bet for solving the Goldbach's conjecture. But once something clicks, like in your brain, and you get used to the formula, everything flows pretty well. Had fun, nice job :)

Developer

Thanks for give it a try!

very interesting design. The game is the kind that you want to play more once you really learn

Developer (1 edit)

I'm glad you like it :)

The little color subtraction tool is very clever and makes the game way more interesting in combination with the restrictions. I kinda wish I had to be even more strategic with my rerolls, maybe energy isn't a time based thing but rather a number of rerolls or something idk. Nice!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'll be updating the game, so thank you for the feedback :)

The game becomes very enjoyable once you give it enough time. There’s a good amount of depth to it, and the theme was implimented into the game in multiple ways (everything was counting down, even the conversion of the cards). And if you put enough time into it, you realize that a good amount of strategy is required to be good at the game.

A solid entry. Great job!!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

This game is so much fun, I really enjoyed it! Energy went down a little bit too quickly, so I can't wait for the fixed version :D

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'll work on it :)

Shockingly harder than I expected. Really like the idea through since as it makes simple math (addition and subtraction) into a harder brain than expected.

Developer

Thanks for playing!

An interesting game. I liked the mechanic, and I think the combiner is a really good addition. I felt like the time went down too quickly and that you didn't quite get enough energy back for every equation. But I definitely enjoyed it! With a few more conditions, I think this would be a very replayable game :)

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'll fix the energy system and add a score system. Thanks for the feedback.

Very cool idea and excecution.

On my notebook, the screens is cut off und i can't see the energy level unfortunately. Otherwise, i had a really good time with it.

Developer

Thanks for playing! You can play in fullscreen, that should fix the problem :)

great and fun game. it took a while until i realized that you have to pull the lever. not press it :) . but i had a fun time playing it. maybe adding juice to the game would make it better.

Developer

Thanks for give it a try! hahaha, I tought having to pull down a lever was more satisfying than press a button. I want to learn how to add juice to my games, since this is the first one I made. I'll release a fixed version :)

The game is very difficult for people who struggle with math. ( Other than that, it's great.

Cool idea, my favourite bit was using the workbench to craft the cards I needed without having to update

Potential Improvements/Fixes:

  • Submitting with more cards could give you more energy
  • I was able to stash as many cards as I liked in the reserve zone (with the caveat that it became a bit difficult to find the right card)
  • The energy ticking down over time kinda disincentivised me to ponder more efficient solutions if my thinking time cost would be worse than spamming update to get the right cards - I'd consider removing the time drain entirely
Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I'll release a fixed version, adding a score system and fixing the energy bar. Thanks for playing!

Great Idea, really makes you think about the best combinations. Only thing that I would want to change is the energy bar, it decreases a bit too quickly and submitting doesn't regenerate as much energy as I would like. Other than that, great game and can definitely be expanded upon. Great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm currently fixing all the bugs related to the energy bar (It drains faster than it should). Thank you for the feedback :)

Great platform to expand on! I was really getting into it!

Great game, it challenges you. It might seem a bit difficult at first, but you gradually improve  :)

Developer

Thanks for playing! ;)
