How does your game fit the theme?
The whole game is a count down: you descend from Floor 100 to Floor 0, one floor at a time. The abyss counts YOU down too - after every floor it demands a sacrifice: one of your stats, or one memory of the friend you're trying to save. At zero, everything you counted away is waiting: the final boss gains every stat you gave up, point for point. Keep enough memories, and the count ends in a reunion instead of a fight.

Wow very polished game, I loved it!

Developer

Thank you all so much for playing and for the honest feedback! ❤️

A quick note on the difficulty: Abyss of Ends is deliberately a soulslike-leaning roguelike descent — dying is part of the loop, and the abyss is supposed to feel merciless. But there's also a hidden reason: I'm already building the next version with online co-op, where you can revive a downed teammate — the current balance quietly assumes that second sword exists. Playing solo, you're basically doing the co-op tower alone. That's why even floor 100 bites.

@jsmilan — you're completely right though, I owe new players a warmer welcome. Early-floor tuning is top of the post-jam list. @TimSorrow — wider sword arcs are going in the same patch. @Stag Studio — thank you, comments like yours are why jams are worth the all-nighters.

Here's a 70-second highlight reel of the full boss gauntlet (including my own death to the very first floor's goblins — the giant red "菜" on the death screen means "you suck," and I earned it):

Thanks again for descending. Every scrap of feedback goes straight into the abyss with me. 🗡

Wow! I can't believe you made this game during the jam. I really love the concept, and the game mechanics are unique! I really like the idea of sacrificing ourself or our memories as we go on. It's really cool. The difficulty is a bit on the harder side, but I think there's fun in when you do complete that level. Amazing game and I will definitely come back to play more!

Great job, it will be cool to have wider sword spin

Cool idea, but I'm not sure about the balance. I know, I know, git gud...but the first level was too brutal for me. There's 100 levels, you gotta warm people up!
