I really like the look of this game - a great watercolour-esque artstyle, an adorable player character, and some nice touches of polish. (The low-health zoom, the credits integrated into the level, etc.) It was a really clean experience and flowed well as a roguelike!

The use of the timer as both a health bar substitute and a reward for killing enemies also works well - it adds a great back-and-forth tension to combat, flipping between high and low time. It incentivises you to stay aggressive when damaged instead of running away, which makes the game more urgent.

I do think the actual combat could do with a bit more development. There’s only the one very basic enemy type (at least that I saw), so the only thing that changes from round to round is the amount of them. I didn’t feel super encouraged to keep grinding because it felt just a bit samey. I also think the attack range is maybe a little too short - you have to get right in close to hit enemies, and their attacks have no telegraphs, so you just tank damage. I think with some more depth in these gameplay areas, the strong aesthetics & structure could shine even more.

Great work!

thank you! this is a wonderful piece of feedback <3

very cute aesthetic, gameplay was very smooth and polished, wish the enemies would show they are about to attack with like a 0.5 charge up or something, but other than that everything was well made. Great work! :)

thanks! couldnt agree more on the enemy windup thing

The art was over the top, the gameplay was smooth and worked pretty well, and the timer added a good amount of tension into the game. It was quite a solid game overall, one thig i would like tho would be to add some more feedback to when the enemies are attacking

Developer

thank you! totally agree

I like the piggy. The art, sound, and environment zoom when low health is really cool. I did get one shot by the enemies after picking up the reward multiple times. it would have been even better if they spawned in at different locations to give each level a fair start. Overall this game is awesome.

It's cool that your health being the timer keeps you incentivised to attack even when your health's low, that's a nice tension! Also I like the piggy.

we all love the piggy! thank you <3

The concept is fun and the art is cute :)

The music was quite difficult for me to play with.

But I've liked the game ! Congrats ♥ ♥

Developer

thank you! i made this soundtrack just when we were starting to work on the game, and at first it was supposed to be more of a bullet hell room based roguelike. i've spent so much time trying to get the map generation to work (unsuccessfully), and on the last day i made the decision to pivot to something easier :(

now it's not as dynamic as i first planned, and the time i've spent on the map generation could've easily went into something more meaningful, like upgrades and enemy types.

The game seems to be stuck on the unity loading screen. Might be something broken or some issue on my side.

Developer(+1)

i think it might be something on your side, you can try again if you want

tested on multiple computers and browsers and it seems to be working for me
