Thank you so much! It definitely needs a tutorial :D

Thank you! :)

Thank you! Yeah, it would need a good number of additions to turn into a releasable game. Not sure what I'll do with it for now, but I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I think I'll upload an improved version after the jam at least, with a couple of tweaks and improvements. Whether I take it any further after that, I'm not so sure at the moment!

Beautiful artwork and love the central concept! I did eventually find myself just looking at the up/down arrows and swiping in whatever way felt optimal, rather than engaging with the actual theme of that particular request, but for the scope of the jam this is a really nice entry, great work!

Well I was not expecting the brutality when I hit play XD - the Count was certainly down. RIP Grandma.

Thank you for the kind words!

Thank you so much for playing! :)

Really enjoyable! I wish my guy drew a couple more sleep cards when he needed that! :) But I submitted in the last hour, at 95% progress so... 10/10 real game jam experience

Such a fun and inventive idea for the theme! I think the level design probably wants to give the player a few more opportunities to make the forced angles line up, but for the time span of a jam this was great and super fun - I can imagine seeing it expanded a lot further! Great work!

Dripping with mood and style! Love the general vibe of the game, and it works well as a meditative activity. Nice work!

Thank you for the kind words! :)

Can't say I've played a chicken plucking game before! Very unique take on the theme! I really enjoyed the actual plucking, but really wasn't sure if I was successfully placing the feathers or not due to the lack of feedback there. But a very fun entry for sure!

Thank you! Yeah, it is definitely not well balanced at the moment haha! For sure, the hand needs hovering interactions - it was simply because for a long time I wasn't sure if I would even keep the Hand, or have you play cards directly from the market, so I just ran out of time once it looked like it was gonna stay.

This is a really fantastic take on the theme, and executed really well! I love games that explore "the other side" of more common themes in games, like launching missiles. Super great job!

You did amazingly given the time frame, just pulling a game together in that time is very hard, let alone making it compelling. I really enjoyed it, great work!

Took me a sec to realise what exactly was going on, like the overshoot etc, but once it clicked, this was awesome! Really enjoyed the concept, executed nicely. Great work!

Really enjoyed this! It took me a second (in a good way) to understand exactly how the doors were working, and that was a cool moment. I think there's plenty more to explore here using time as a resource, and maybe having objects that behave differently when theyre in a particular window of time as well as just "actively counting down". Great stuff!

Thanks for the kind words! Yeah, I didn't realise how important it would be to have a web build here on itch, definitely an oversight! I will check out your game, thanks so much for playing!

I really like the concept! I did struggle to understand how things were working for a while (I think you have the Left/Right mouse button controls the wrong way round in the tutorial), but there's definitely potential here to explore!

Adorable! Lots of nice feel in there, I really enjoyed playing it, and great to see more frogs!

Loved it! Really elegant set of rules, great scope for a jam, feels great to play and nicely polished. Great job!

Fantastic entry! Feels great to play, nicely polished, and just a very solid game. +1 fellow frog dev!

Thank you! Yeah, it needs a whole UX pass honestly - it's all stuff I would do for a commercial game that I just couldn't squeeze into the time I could allocate to the jam. For a long time I wasn't even sure if you would have a Hand, and instead might just play cards directly from the market! So it's not at all polished. Thanks for playing and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

thank you!

It's adorable! Really great entry, solid little game, I had a lot of fun :)

This is a really novel idea for a game! And a great use of the theme. I do think it's a bit hard to figure out, due to the lack of tutorial and onboarding that happens when you're doing a jam and are focusing on everything else (<-- this guy doesn't have a tutorial either!) but I can see this being expanded into a very cool game! Nice work!

Nice entry! Good use of the theme, could definitely see it expanded into a bigger game!

Nice original on the theme, and it's nicely polished, good job!

Really enjoyed this! Very elegant core set of rules. I played several games but am still unsure what exactly the fight is - the only time I played and the timer hit zero, the game just stalled, so I had to refresh. But I really enjoyed playing this, and could imagine playing it as a physical game with friends!

It's a really nice take on the Scoundrel dungeon crawler format, and I'm happy to see someone pursued that idea! Really polished and plays nicely (though I did get a key and then an exit within about 3 turns haha) - great work!

Definitely one of the best interpretations of the theme I've seen in the jam! Really love the concept, I think it suffers from a lack of tutorial / UX onboarding etc that's pretty necessary in a game like this, but it's a game jam, and it's better to have figured out a cool design without time spent making a tutorial than vice versa :) definitely plenty of potential here!

You really nailed the feel here, super punchy and feels good nailing the keys. It's easy to imagine expanding this further, really great job!

Thanks for playing! The balance definitely needs a lot of love :) the looter can be a lil nasty!

(1 edit)

Lovely art, and I really like the concept. I struggled to understand where to click initially, but once I figured the UI out I got the hang of it quickly. This is definitely one of the better timer-as-health combat systems I've played in the Jam, and I can imagine it being expanded further in a full game! UX is always hard in the jam time frame, but with a pass over that I think this would be solid! And again, gorgeous art!

Thank you so much for playing! The looter is indeed brutal, probably too brutal. Even more reason to slaughter (yes, slaughter) him.

Awesome job! I can't help feeling it would have fit the theme even better if the player had to reach the ground floor from their flat, but otherwise it's a really novel idea given the theme. Lots of tension, nice work!

Ah thank you so much for the returned review, I'm glad you liked it! I wish I had got more QoL/UX stuff in before the deadline, but hey ho, at least you enjoyed your time slaughtering (yes, Slaughtering) your subjects!

Really clever use of the theme, love the concept and simplicity of the idea. Nice variety in the timing and mini games, I actually think this could help people learn to count odd time signatures in music! Overall a really nicely scoped project, and executed fantastically. Great work!

It's cool that your health being the timer keeps you incentivised to attack even when your health's low, that's a nice tension! Also I like the piggy.
