I think I’m just hunting down all the survivors games now – and glad I’m doing so because I feel like I’m finding all the hidden gems.. This one was really fun, and I LOVE the main character. I want more – that is all I need to say really.

As far as feedback, there’s a few things that would’ve helped in terms of clarity during the gameplay. Some of it was no big deal once I figured it out, but having some more communication around the enemy hitboxes, timing and the actual moment you’re getting hit would’ve helped. For example, a red screen flash + a slight knockback when you get hit, range of enemies being a bit more forgiving or clear so you know when you’re about to get wacked. In a game where you’re balancing your own melee distance against enemy ranges, it feels important to get that right.

But anyways, I’m going to give this 5/5 on art because hell yeah, it’s peak. Imo this game is super iconic looking and I fell in love with Skrimpo immediately. i think I would 100% buy this as a full game and actually really enjoy it if the polish were up to snuff.

I also liked the mixing of weapon types with the shrimps. Felt like you didn’t give a shit when choosing what weapons would fit with the shrimp theme and I’m saying that in the most complimentary way possible.

Also I realize looking back, this post sounds tongue in cheek, but genuinely it was super fun and I meant every word :)

Nice submission.

Lots of fun to play! Tried a few strategies but stacking quick cooldown seemed best, esp. with the nova + auto cannon. The beginning was a bit slow, it took a long time for mobs to die on the first few levels, but the pacing felt good after getting some cooldown upgrades. Made it up to the cannon enemies but they eventually caught me! Wish there was a way to get more health (Maybe the growth serum? But it didn’t seem to.)

Shame about the export bugs. The swords made me lose frames every time they triggered, and while there's an option to invert camera X, I really needed to invert Y.

But I love the queue system for the weapons! Works perfectly for this genre. I could see some great opportunity for strategy with that system, for instance if the player could rearrange the order. Maybe take some inspiration from Noita with modifier tiles that change the qualities of the following weapon? Also, Skrimpo is cute. Worth fighting for.

You actually CAN reorder them if you hold tab and click and drag. Cool, huh?

Nice. I'll try again!

I enjoyed your game. Not having health regen except from the pillars forced me to play smart. Also I like how over time with the collection of weapons you get you end up with a rhythm. Also it was cool to see more enemies late into the game! two small grips. I wish that there was a description for the non aggressive items like growth serum because i did not know what they did. Also i wish i could chose whether i wanted an item from a chest to keep my loop optimized. Great game good job!

Unfortunate that my game for some reason froze every time I rolled my first item from a chest, I wish I could have played more and experienced more. Skrimpo is so cute and I would love to see this expanded on in the future :)

The camera is rough. But I like Skrimbo as a concept.
