Amazing Game! Especially that you managed to create a rougelike in such a short time is really impressive!

Some feedback that I gathered while playing :) :

- UX wise, i think it would be nice to highlight which things in the shop are currently affordable with your money and which are not, and disabeling buttons for items that are too expensive (i was confused that nothing happened when clicking a button, just to realize i dont have the money XD

- While the game is already really solid, I think it could benefit from more player feedback ( or "Game Feel", but personally don't like the word that much😅) What I mean is more VFX, SFX, screen-shake, etc. when something interesting happens. While the intensifying music is nice and sfx wise you already have quite a bit, I think especially with the paddles and balls there is still a lot of potential :) (basically everything the player interacts with directly)
Examples: when hitting the ball with the paddles above a certain speed, having some kind of small "explosion" on the paddle (still needs to fit your game of course), or when the ball falls into the pit some screenshake, fail sound and maybe a light shining out of the pit (think of when players are eliminated in smash bros, does not need to be that extreme xD but as example)
I think that could really elevate and hype up the player experience quite a bit, even toned down if you want to keep more of the chill vibe of the game.

- I agree with one of the previous posts, that getting money is a bit confusing xD you just have it at some point...

But still, the current version is already really solid and polished, so good job! :D

Wow, thank you for the super in-depth feedback!

The shop was cobbled together pretty quickly yeah, I absolutely plan on doing an overhaul when I get the chance.

I definitely plan to add way more "juice" to the game in the future, really make you feel the impact of everything going on (and I really like the stuff you're suggesting, so you bet I'm noting that down)

I'll also be sure to make the money-earning part a bit clearer at some point, too!

Cheers rank sister/brother! Glad you enjoyed the game, and thanks again for the feedback :3

Feel free to check out mine!

Developer

Thank you! I'll be sure to give yours a look!

Very thoughtful of you to include a reminder to go back and play other jam games, I was gettin hooked by that point. Very fun game, good work and cool take on pinball.

Developer

Thank you! Glad you had fun :3

a roguelike pinball WITH BOMBS! nothing ever going wrong when adding bombs that chain together! that was so fun!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed! (waiter, waiter, more bombs please)

Oh man, pinball meets peggle but it's a roguelike? Think you might be cooking here chef. Can easily see an expanded version of this doing numbers. Excellent work : )

Thank you!

Small technical issue I encountered: in Vivaldi, “right click + left click” is used as a shortcut for going to the previous page. To be honest I didn’t know that until today! :p Also, some balls can be hard to see for colorblind. I had struggles with the green one, and surprisingly a small brown/blue one.

But those tiny disagreements aside, the game is really fun! The physics feels great and juicy, and it’s actually satisfying to clear the board! The fact that most items and perks have visible effects make them fun to discover. It’s a good thing you put a message at the end, because I’d be definitely be playing this for an entire hour without it! x) Congrats for making this cool entry.

Developer

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!

Never heard of a right click + left click shortcut before, but as someone previously mentioned they had trouble firing with their mouse track-pad because of that combo so that's probably worth adding a setting for at some point.

I'd also completely failed to consider how colours would work for colourblind players, which is totally my bad! I'll probably add some recolours or tweak the sprites at some point to try fix that up. Thank you for your feedback! Really appreciate it :3

very polished game

What's here already is so polished and smooth, it was a real pleasure to play. The UI is nice and polished, and the physics system worked perfectly smoothly for me! I thought more upgrades would have added to the fun, but that's only seems natural in a 4-day game! The upgrades that are here seemed purposefully designed and solid. They were intuitive and synergized nicely, and I appreciate that you didn't try to quickly push out upgrades that didn't hit as hard as the others! Great game!

Developer

Thank you, glad you liked it! I would have loved to have added more upgrades but as you said, doing that well in four days is tough. I have many ideas I'd like to implement, plus heaps more I've come up with post-jam, so I'll likely be adding onto this game once voting ends!

a really fun game with super polished visuals! just a little heads up, my mouse ran out of batteries while playing and i tried to resume on my laptop trackpad, and i couldn't get the aim/shooting mechanic to work anymore, not gamebreaking or majorly important at all, but something to note for the future?

well done on your submission <3

Developer

Hadn't considered trackpads when making the controls, I'll probably have to add some kind of toggle or keybind mapping for that. Glad you enjoyed regardless!

Great job on your submission! I really liked the art style, the game looks really beautiful and polished. The overall visual presentation is very appealing. I also have a soft spot for games that use pinball elements, so this was a lot of fun for me. Nice work!

Developer

Thank you! Happy to hear you liked it :3

Hope you get a chance to play my game too!

I played it yesterday! Had fun with it (I was quite tired though so I didn't end up leaving a comment)

Probably my favorite game so far from this Jam based on how engaging it is. The count down on the pins is fun thematic idea. I can see this becoming a trending game. Well done!

Developer

thank you! glad you like it!

lol based on that end message I know you knew exactly how fun and addictive this is.
great game!

Developer

I lost many hours of potential development time to uh... 'playtesting'... yes... haha

glad you enjoyed it!

So easy yet so satisfying, surely the best game of the jam!

Developer

Thank you! I really appreciate that

Submitted(+1)

Sooo fun, maybe a bit too easy, but also addictive.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it!

Totally agree with you on the difficulty - I had intentionally nerfed the game a lot before submitting the final build, since I wanted players who didn't want to spend heaps of time on the game to still see a decent chunk of it. I'll be re-balancing things a lot post-jam!

Submitted(+1)

This is super fun.  One of my favorites so far.  If you didn't suggest trying other submissions, I would of played way longer.  Great job!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it!
