I've never played a game like this before but the gameplay loop is pretty cool! My best rocket flew about 185km high. Watching the animation over and over again got a bit repetitive so it would be cool if there were some optional ways to speed that up. Very cool and with there being so many parts I can tell a lot of thought was put into this!

Feel free to check out our game if you got time :)

Woah! Love this! Heavy inspiration of KSP, even the music! Great execution in so short time! I don't get how pre-assembly can help here as after buying it i need to disassemble it first because it's not what I want to build. I enjoy playing it and probably will revisit it to actually beat it.

Absolutely a blast of a game! Being a spaceship right before it launches is hilarious. Love the progression experience as well. Great job!

Pretty impressive building a KSP rocket builder in 4 days, and I had lots of fun completing the game. Couple of mild annoyances I encountered:

  • The pre-placed parts were sometimes not what I actually wanted to build (there was a pre-placed decoupler on top of the top-tier engine's tank when I wanted a double tank). Possibly could use whatever the player built in their last rocket (unless they just upgraded their first stage)?
  • Nose cones weren't being duplicated across radially-attached parts
  • Time warp shouldn't happen in space if you have remaining stages (lost a couple of runs to this)

Also IMO you should only win by reaching the moon with a command module, but I'm glad the game allowed me to continue playing and attempt this.

Great feedback! Much appreciated! I was actually planning on removing the preplaced parts because I felt like it kinda broke the idea a bit, but I ran out of energy :(.  I should have left some more time for testing because I could have def caught those 2 bugs. Really appreciate the feedback, awesome to hear you were able to beat it! Agree, you should have to win with the command module, that's a great idea.

Thanks for streaming my game! Super valuable to see someone play it. Much appreciated! If I do a game like this again for a jam I'll def include some cheats. Great tip!

Incredibly incredibly stressful game, but i noticed most parts are kind of useless and stacking fueltanks and boosters got me more than enough points to do whatever i wanted. Very fun though! I think i played for like 30 minutes straight,,,, The part descriptions and upgrades feel kind of weird.

Developer

Thanks for giving it a try! Yeah, I wanted to refine the characteristics of the parts a bit more, but I ran out of time :(. I had plans for a lot more sophisticated flight model. I'll def update some of the text as well. Thanks for the feedback!

How on earth did you remake a light version of KSP in 4 days.

Anyways as a KSP player who takes like 4 hours to design a single rocket the times is so daunting, but man, as a KSP player, THIS IS PEAK AND AMAZING. See you on the Mun. Oh pls add a fast foward option (or its already added and im stupid)

Developer

Yeah, I am def the same way playing KSP, so I was kinda curious if this would even be an enjoyable experience.  Definitely a different one for sure. Was trying to add some pressure to the build stage. Appreciate the feedback, and thanks for trying it!

Mechanics are good, tho i did feel a bit lost as someone who doesn't know anything about rocket science. Had to mute the music since it gets really grating.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah, I was coming at it with over 1000 hours in Kerbal Space Program, so I can totally see how there would be a gap if you hadn't played any space game like that before. I'll think about better ways to introduce the concepts to new players. Appreciate the feedback! Agree that the audio was pretty rough. Will def be fixing that after the voting period is over.

Extremely solid mechanics and concept, the visuals are immaculate and I love the way the points system works. My only complaint is the audio is repetitive and very annoying after a while

Developer

Thanks for playing! Agree on the audio for sure. I was gonna try and give a polish pass last night, but I got too tired. Will def fix after the voting period is over.
