I loved it, it's so fun and unique! However the difficulty really felt like it was too much. I found two bugs: in the shop i could buy as many upgrades as I wanted without expending money; and after the first fight it would not open the menu to progress the game leaving me stuck with no enemies.
Still, I really liked it a lot!
Thanks, Bulboculus! Bugs and difficulty have already been worked on, you can try a new version if you'd like! :D
Nice Idea ! However, I think the difficulty is way to high, probably due to randomness (couldn't get past lvl2). Maybe making the player having more impact over the spells casted could help, cause it's actually current to loose because you get only links or health. Also, it could interesting to make the current spell bigger, instead of having a line of ?, so it's more clear what's going on.
Again, there is many good idea in this game ! Loved the link mechanic, and the game concept is solid too. Good job !
Thanks! I agree about the difficulty, I'll defenetly work on that. I'm also going to do something about the spell pool, at the moment it's too chaotic. About that line - there is an upgrade in a shop that allows you to expand the amount of spells visible, but its spawn is random and pretty rare, so i might need to do something about that too.
I really like the concept! I did struggle to understand how things were working for a while (I think you have the Left/Right mouse button controls the wrong way round in the tutorial), but there's definitely potential here to explore!
No way, i realy did mixed up left and right! Thanks for noticing!
This is an excellent idea. I love the premise of having to quickly decide and act upon what spell you're given, though at the moment it feels quite unbalanced and luck driven.
The green enemy in the second battle turned out to be unbeatable for me as I kept only getting shields and the occasional fire spell was too weak against its healing. When I replayed to try again, the second battle kept spawning more than 5 enemies, which was impossible to fight - is that a bug or was it intended? Another (probably) bug I discovered is that you can link an enemy to itself to do double spells by clicking two times with the link spell.
The shop between rounds was confusing because I couldn't see how much money I had, so I had to guess and click until I couldn't buy anything anymore.
The art is clear, simple and beautiful, the sounds are very well picked, but I was hoping to hear some music in the game, that would've made it much better.
Overall a really nice game idea, I could definetly see this going far!
Thank you for the feedback! Completly agee with you on banalcing issue, and spells do feel to random, inspite the fact that there is a system to mitigate complete randomness. The other issues you've had (5 enemies on a second round, no balance UI for the shop, ect.) are bugs, unfortunaty i didn't notice them in time.
