How does your game fit the theme?

I wish the environment had more to reflect fireflies’ light!!

Btw hope you can try our game!

Good job! I didn't quite understand what the flicker does but I enjoyed the atmosphere. It could have used a little bit of sound.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! The flicker is supposed to be used to help you see in the darkness but honestly the game is a little too bright so it’s use is less meaningful at the moment. I definitely want to add sound in the future!

I love the forest environment, with audio and some ambience it can be even more immersive. The bats were terrifying at night (in a good way) and I suggest to increase the hitbox of those health collectibles because it was kinda hard to pick up. Great work, the environment inspired me for my next games!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yes, I definitely want to add audio and some little bugs and particles floating around! And I totally agree that the bug collectibles need to have a bigger hitbox. Thanks for the great feedback!

bro Think you are the best game of this game jam for me, I really enjoy your game especially the art, I really like this art style and always wanted to make a game with this art but I never try it, considering this is your first 3d game jam, it is amazing! the gameplay is good too but I really didn't understand what the green animals supposed to do?

Plus I think if you make a devlog and publish it on youtube it would be great!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for all the kind words!! I love trying to make shapes with a limited selection like Unity’s built in 3D objects so I’m glad you like it! The green animal is supposed to be a “grub/bug” that you collect to recharge your light, but it definitely needs some more detail and a bigger hitbox :D

A devlog is a great idea, you may have just inspired me to finally make one!

Very nice atmosphere and nice use of the theme. Some cool ambient audio would really elevate this, and at times I was finding myself trying to scroll to adjust the camera xD But great job!

Developer

Thank you for playing! The next game jam I participate in, I definitely want to prioritize adding audio. I also tried to scroll haha :D It's a sign that I need to add that feature.

Very pretty how the light changes! I didn't quite get why I should increase my light; the game can be won by staying still. Nonetheless, I enjoyed collecting a few more fireflies :).

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing! I wanted to have the game be darker overall so that the light feature would have a bigger purpose, but I was struggling with Unity's skybox and then ran out of time haha :D

Nice job! I think you made a neat game especially considering it was your first 3D game jam submission! Loved playing as a friefly and I also enjoyed the detail at the end when dawn was approaching of the lighting reflecting that!

Thank you for the kind words!
