How does your game fit the theme?
You play as a fuse that's slowly burning up. So its a countdown until you burn up.

The fuse tail mechanic is really cool. I like how it follows the player's movement, and I like the idea that fuse burns faster when crossing a fire tile (though I didn't notice while playing). I imagine there are several additional mechanics you could combine with the fuse for some really interesting puzzle gameplay.

I think the art turned out alright for having your artist dip. The particle effects on the fuse's flame and when the fireworks exploded were good.

I wish there was a level restart button as I got stuck in a dead-end blocked by a door (even though the description warned of that) and had to sit and wait for my fuse to burn out.

Thanks for the game!

Developer

Thank you very much. I'll try to make some of those improvements. I already had some other mechanics I left out since I didn't have time to make levels with them. And yeah, the fire tile was totally a bug unfortunately. Thanks for complimenting the fireworks, I appreciate it!

It was genuinely very easy, and I guess it didn’t feel like there was any countdown. I think the tail got shorter, and I really enjoyed playing—it was a lot of fun.

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I hope to make some more difficult levels using  some of the mechanics I left out. Kinda threw these together slap dash.

Neat idea that fits the theme, though perhaps a bit too easy. I didn't even realize that the fuse was burning up until (what I think was) the last level. The red tiles, I assume, are meant to burn your fuse faster? The way the levels were designed, it seemed like you were meant to avoid them. However, the effect on the fuse was so trivial that I could just move right through them and beat the level with no problem. You might also want to add some sort of effect to show what they are doing, because I thought they weren't doing anything at first. And I also suggest them being more of a hinderance to add some challenge, like burning your fuse much faster.

Also, it seems the switch in this level doesn't do anything. I wasn't able to progress beyond this point, unfortunately. This level is also when I realized that the fuse could burn you since I couldn't figure out what to do and ran out of time.

Overall, nice job! I like the idea of the fuse following you. It just needs to be more challenging. The particle effects for the fireworks at the end of each level was fun.

You are absolutely right about everything. I did everything in a hurry so the levels weren't very carefully designed. The red tiles had a bug that made their effect trivial and the final map you were actually supposed to press two pressure plates simultaneously. But that's totally on me, I should have introduced it in an easier level.

Anyway, thanks for your review. It helped a lot.

At first, I thought it was Gluttonous Snake. Later, I understood that the idea of lighting all the fireworks. very interesting!

Developer

Thanks for playing. It was actually supposed to be a crawling fuse, but when I noticed it looked like a snake I gave it a lil wiggle. Dunno what gluttonous snake is though, I was thinking of regular snake.

To be honest, the gameplay felt a bit dull, and the countdown mechanic didn't seem to be working properly. Also, a few areas can result in a softlock with no reset button available, forcing players to reload. Sorry to be blunt!

Developer(+1)

Nah, that's totally fine. Actually I appreciate the honesty. I'll try to improve it so that it won't feel as dull in the future.

Still don't know how to pronounce the title but the doritos blowing up in the sky were absolutely gorgeous. Nice work!

Developer

Yeah... 😅 The doritos were just temporary until my artist betrayed me. Thanks for the review!

Really cool idea! Would love too see it developed further :)

Developer

Thx, I will.

Cool game! Just wish you didn't have to wait so long for the fireworks to launch when you complete a level.

Developer

Yeah maybe I'll add a skip button or make them more interesting so it's not a bother to sit through.

Simple but sweet - I like the way the worm wiggled! There are some nice ideas here that I'm sure could be expanded, but good stuff!

Developer

Thanks! I'll be working on it.

Simple mechanic! There isn't a restart button, but that's okay. I also think adding stars across the whole sky would make it look even better. Overall, it's fun and entertaining. Congratulations!

Developer

Thanks a lot. Actually I had an artist that was supposed to do my art, but he actually dipped last day so I threw that together kinda fast.

Loved the firework animation

Developer

Thanks! They were a hassle to get right but I'm glad you liked them.

I don't know what the red square and fire do, but good puzzles. I'm not sure if the user can restart the level or the only way to restart is to wait for the fuse.

Developer

Yeah I actually just noticed... Think I broke that game mechanic, it's supposed to accelerate the fuse. Anyway I'm kinda bad at time management so I couldn't really add the finishing touches.

Submitted

Basic concept but neatly executed,  the mechanics are easy to understand and the burning fuse reminds me of my impending doom, causing me to panic when I remmeber my time is running out lol Nice work

Developer

Thanks. Glad you could relate to it ig

Nice simple execution on a neat idea! It would have been cool to see the fireworks all go off at once somehow, though I get why they can't

Developer

No you're absolutely right. I'll look into adding that in the future.

Submitted

Really cool concept! I really like firework games.

Fireworks + puzzles was a really cool idea.

Tho I did get stuck during later level :(

I enjoyed your game tho, well done! :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks. You probably got stuck because of my poor design choice. Think I probably made that last one unbeatable.
