Really nice atmosphere! Wish there was more in game description on how to sue controls, but the description helped a lot.

Interesting concept and great art style / atmosphere. Really like the use of photographic textures, really stands out from the bunch in those areas, great job!

  1. I couldn't get past the "a little lad whispered in my ear" area, so I don't know how it ends.
  2. Controls were a bit weird and underexplained, but reading the description helped a ton.
  3. It felt tedious filling the balloons every time, and I don't see any point to not fill up completely, so I'd prefer it was instant or a lot quicker to refill after respawn.
  4. It doesn't make any sense that you can die from filling up a balloon: A) there's no danger otherwise and you can just wait a bit longer and refill further; B) if you're exhaling into a balloon, that means it's CO2 in them, which is worse than useless for diving.
  5. I loved the art style and the signs.

New version in development :)

By the way, the final stage had to be tackled with the understanding that if you balanced on the verge of suffocation, you could hold out longer underwater. My fault. Anyway, if you want to see the ending, this tip is for you.

I liked the art style and using the balloons for extra air was a fun mechanic. Being underwater and running out breath reminded me of Subnautica - too stressful 😅

Cool game, it took a bit to figure out how to actually play it and the controls are a bit awkward but once I got the hang of it and was able to make some progress I enjoyed it. Good submission!

To preface, the game does have a bit of an onboarding issue as the mechanics are a little bizarre, the game could have done well with just a single balloon which would reduce the moving parts you need to explain to the player. The mechanic where you alternate suffocating and breathing to extend the balloons lifespan is neat in concept but most people are unlikely to figure it out, especially in a game using breath as a countdown to give the player anxiety and should probably be explained explicitly. That being said though, the artstyle is good enough to set up a very anxiety inducing mood and the audio design contributes to it as well, making for a really unique spooky experience, with the alluded narrative adding even more dread to the experience. I'm a big fan of these kind of games so I might be bias'd but I'm looking forward to what else you'll cook as you get more proficient at designing mechanics!

The art style is very unique and cool. Once I understood how to play the game got really fun. Great idea and great game!!!

Art technique called "Photobashing", you actually making collage out of existing pictures, and it's not my most performative takes on that style. Thank you for the kind words :)

The game's idea is very cool, i like kinda having to count and all but i still feel like keys lack some kind of feedback, it's not always clear if my keys are working properly lol.

Aside from that, the game was pretty fun, keep up the good work !

Developer

Thx :)

Mechanic is clear! game looks and plays well but is difficult to start if you don't know what you are doing. Adding an oxygen meter/timer in the future would be a good call. Good stuff!

Vert creative game, but i couldnt understand how the balloon mechanic works

Developer

I'll try rewrite controls. I wish i could update game with better controls but thats not a option

Developer

Description updated, if it's not hard, please give feedback on controls 🙏

Nice game! I think that's as close to cave diving as I'll ever get :)

I tried, but I still couldn't figure out how to play. There's a severe lack of audio and visual feedback. That would have helped me understand the mechanics better.

However, I want to note that the scene from the photo (or whatever it is?) is nicely put together. And the balloon-blowing mechanic is fun (but it's sorely lacking in sound!)

In any case, well done for finishing the game!

Yeah... I updated the description to sweeten the pill, but thanks for the comment anyway! (The game has an ending, but it's a shame that many people might not get there due to the control design.)

It got better. Now at least I beat the game :)

But in your next project, take care of the feedback from the game. There is a great lack of inhalation, exhalation and the like. This not only makes it more immersive, but also helps you understand how the mechanics work.

I truly realize all of this now; it’s just a shame I couldn’t make better use of the development time. I don’t want to point fingers, but one of the issues is actually mentioned in the credits... *ahem*.

I’ll aim to apply the lessons I’ve learned to a new version of the game built from scratch, prioritizing deeper gameplay and total immersion.
