Now this is really interesting! I imagine if the characters from the Inside Out movie lived in a wizard's brain it would be like this game. A few pain points: it took me a couple tries to realize that the function of the spell book changes from a tutorial to spellcasting instructions when the timer starts, I didn't realize I had to click on the strange symbols to get them to play audio, and I could have used more time in the countdown. I REALLY like the premise, though. Love the idea of playing minigames to make a spell.

yes, kicking myself for leaving some of the instruction feedback to the end of the time limit for the jam! Had plans to add some on screen text and such to guide a bit more. thanks for playing!

This seems like a super cool game but I really couldn't figure out how to make anything happen. I think I'm not smart enough to be a true wizard lol. But I can tell there's something really cool here so nice job!

This was pretty fun, my favorite part was the listening part, nice voice acting! It was also cool to see the goblin running up but there was a huge lag spike every time I pressed the button to cast or start a new round. Other than that had fun, the jump in difficulty for fireball on the somatic part was crazy haha.

Thanks for playing! I'm also occasionally a professional voice actor, nothing crazy, but performing was my first career for a decade, so good to know the chops are still there! Yeah, next time I do a web export, I know I need to do some better preloading/prewarming so it doesn't chop like that.

Really creative and interesting idea! I managed to cast a couple of spells, I found the verbal components with the leaver the hardest, partly from working out which words applied, but mostly working out which levers corresponded to which words. I think if the levers themselves had the words and lights on them, or they were buttons, you could also then have the button itself light up, currently you have to parse the word, work out if it applies to the components, look at the colour, look at the levers and work out which one matches it and then click it, then check the colour of the square light under the word you were looking at, That's a lot of steps where something can go wrong for the player, not through them getting the wrong word, but getting mixed up elsewhere, which is not a great user experience. The verbal and somatic components inputs I thought were both fine and a nice level of difficulty. Found it quite fun to puzzle out the solution and run about to see the spell cast on the slow motion goblin!

yeah that tripped me up too until my brain locked in what corresponded to what. even arranging the levers in the same layout as the objects on the screen would make that instant. had a lot of fun with it regardless. fun > polish for me on game jam games 100%.

my wizard brain is too low INT i think, couldn't manage a single magic missile :(

had a lot of performance hiccups starting up and then throughout crosshair going a bit haywire.

it was a cool concept tho!  I especially liked the moon map for the somatic portion of the spell. The Material one was really tough and the UI was trickly cus I didn't know what I got wrong exactly because of a few missing fonts in the popup when i failed hte magic missile

Developer(+1)

yeah, I was a bit disappointed by the load times on start up and spell casts. Wish I had time to fix it before the deadline, This was my first try at doing a web export in godot, so I didn't know how much that would effect the experience. thanks for trying it out!

Really good concept. The minigame with materials was hard for me. Also the game froze every time I pressed the "Start" button. But overall cool game.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! This my first try at a web game, and didn't have time to submit and then try to optimize the loading - NEXT TIME!

Really enjoy the brain room with the slowmo goblin. The somatic was hard for me to figure out.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing, I wondered which pieces would be easier/harder for people!

I like it! I was having some trouble with the material component section which can be a bit ambiguous (are damp green clumps that weep sticky sap alive? I assume so, but without feedback on what was wrong it feels like guesswork). Cool/funny theme and I always love a "you can't do simple mental tasks under time pressure" game.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, that was a big concern going through my head during the process but in the end I decided the ambiguity was good for this version of the idea. being unsure about the answer made it feel more frenetic which I liked, though even I got frustrated in testing sometimes, lol. Thanks for playing!

I love the concept and the branding, the yellow and black goes hard

Wow, maybe my memory isn't as good as I thought it was!

i'm over here clicking fus ro dah like some kind of dragon chump

Submitted(+1)

Kind of feels like a one-person Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes. I wonder what sort of puzzles would work well on top of the memory challenges.

Submitted(+2)

I thought of that comparison too!

Developer(+1)

high praise : )

Thanks for playing!
