End life plan
The game is fully functional offline, after bug fixes, an some more content updates, I'll post a downloadable version with the source code, which will always be available on GitHub and on Itch. If people are willing to pay for it, I could make physical discs with the game on it for any potential Kickstarter backers if I plan to continue this?

Transparency note
For Sprites and story writing, I didn't use any AI. I did use AI to help me learn the Godot syntax, (I main Unity), and helped with the last-minute addition of the high score chart. It also wrote the Platform spawning, shout out to Gemini, after which I overviewed and edited the code. Other than that, All the code for the raw movement features and all other features came from my raw, human brain. I will never use AI to generate art.

Was very fun! Graphics are definitely unfished as promised lol, what is there is good, and the platforming mechanics are pretty polished, good job!

Thanks! I did want to do more things like different sizes of platforms and different platform sprites at the different regions, maybe in a future update after the jam! Anyways, Thanks for trying out the game!

Once I got the hang of it, chaining dashes together became incredibly fun.

The game's meta seems to be double-dashing at the start to build up speed, then jumping, touching a wall, jumping, dashing, jumping, touching a wall, and repeating the cycle. It might sound tedious when described like that, but the character builds up so much speed that you end up smashing your head into an island, scrambling to recover in mid-air, the flood start rising much faster after the 2,000 meter mark, and sooner or later, RNG hits you with a lightning at the worst possible moment.

In short: the perfect balance of chaos and fun.

Developer

The way you described the game is absolutely amazing , i tried experimenting with the warning time with the lightning and its hitbox duration, but you end up moving so fast that you start ignoring it almost entirely before its too late(not intended). this review gives me a bunch of valuable info on what to improve! thanks for giving the game a shot!

Simple and addictive, I like it

Developer

Exactly what I was going for. Thanks for trying out the game!

The game is fun! The environment probably needs more time, but its alright for a game jam submission; however, the gameplay on the other hand is really fun. I loved Climbing on the walls. (Also was that the bee movie script in the title screen XD)

Developer

Thanks for playing! If theres one thing i wanted to get right, it was the core gameplay loop, everything else was second priority. i wanted to make sure the game was atleast fun above all else! >:D

Good game! Although the character felt a bit hard to control, it was fun abusing the dash button to get super high.

Also, was that the Barbie movie script in the main menu?

Developer

The entire bee movie script. yeah.
regardless, thanks for trying out the game!

Despite not reading anything and jumping straight into gameplay, I was able to grasp the controls rather easily (I mainly just pressed what i thought were common keys, like Q, Space Bar, Shift, WASD). The controls are really basic and yet they were really fun to use!

Developer(+1)

Yeah i agree! the controls are pretty obvious for experienced platformer players, id say the main purpose is to introduce the main gimmick of dash chaining, cuz you wont get far without it.

Very cool, definitely got more challenging as i got higher
