Great aesthetics. Is there a way to show file information?

Developer

Thanks! Great question — right now there's no info display, but showing file values (how much each type is worth) is definitely on my list. This is just an early prototype, so that kind of clarity will be added as I develop it further. Good feedback!

One of the most unique games I've played so far in the game jam. Good job :3

Developer

Thanks so much! This is still just an early concept/prototype, so I'm glad it landed even in this rough state. Planning to keep building on it 🙂

Such a unique idea! And looks just right :) Very nice game.

Appreciate it! Right now it's just a barebones prototype, but I'm planning to develop it a lot further.

Interesting game!

I loved the Windows 98 (I think it is) window style.

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, went for that Windows 98 look. This is really just a first-pass concept for now, more polish coming.

This was an interesting spin on the theme! Very cool concept, and the art just adds to the experience as a whole. Nice game!

Developer

Thanks a lot! Glad the concept came through, it's still very much a prototype so there's a lot more planned for the art and mechanics.

The game itself was ok, but the graphics were beautiful, i liked it :)

Thanks! Yeah, gameplay balance is basically untouched right now, this was more a proof-of-concept build. Appreciate you playing it.

The inversion is perfect for this jam. In something called Stop Killing Games, making the core mechanic DELETING FILES to reach zero is a delicious piece of irony, and it also inverts the jam's own theme by making you chase the LOWEST score instead of the highest. Two inversions stacked and both of them land.

The Windows 95/98 presentation is flawless. Real windows with gradient blue title bars, grey buttons with 3D borders, bitmap font, even the cloud wallpaper. Four tidy windows: Directory with the files, Remaining Points with the target, Trash Bin with your drag limit, and Upgrades. Anyone who lived through that era smiles instantly. And the yellow Windows tooltip appearing ("Drop the files here to delete") is a lovely level of fidelity.

It also worked first try, which honestly puts it in a small minority of what I've played in this jam, and the feedback is immediate. I dragged an Image File to the bin, the target dropped from 100 to 85 and my drags went from 5 to 4. So each file TYPE is worth a different amount, which turns it into a little combination puzzle: which files do I delete to land exactly on zero with the drags I have left. That's a proper design idea, not just a gimmick.

Barely any complaints. The one real note: it isn't stated up front how much each file type is worth, so the first round is trial and error. A small number under each icon would turn it from guessing into an actual puzzle immediately, and I think that single change would make the whole thing click harder. Tiny one: the Menu window in the bottom right was empty for me.

One honest note on the end of life criterion, since it's scored here and it's the point of the jam: "I will try to develop it more" is a roadmap rather than a preservation plan. Given the game is this good and this small, saying something concrete (a downloadable build, or the source archived somewhere) would cost you nothing and would fit the entry perfectly. That aside, one of the smartest concepts in the jam and one of the very few I played with zero friction. Recommended.

Really appreciate the detailed writeup! You're right on both notes — showing file values upfront and fleshing out the (currently empty) menu are high on my list. This is just an early prototype, so treat the "develop it more" as a real commitment, not a vague promise. Planning a proper build with the source available too.

Really cool aesthetic, and novel gameplay :) really interesting game, trying to reduce your score flips things.
I couldn't get past 3 rounds, no matter how i seemed to spend my gold, so i think i must have been doing something wrong 😅 great from what i saw though, good job!

Developer

Thanks! And no worries, the shop/balance is pretty rough and untuned right now (this was just a concept test), so getting stuck isn't on you. Planning to rework that for a fuller version.

This is cool—the Windows 95 style really gives it that special touch.

Thanks! Glad the Windows 95 vibe landed. This is just a quick concept build for now, more to come.

Really cool concept. It was a bit hard but really fun!

Developer

Thanks! Yeah it's tuned pretty tight since it's just an early prototype, difficulty balance is next on the list as I keep developing it.
