creativity: cool idea. A fun way of seeing the theme.
enjoyment: a big challanging. Cool premise.
narrative: not a narrative game.
artwork: not bad. Though the text was unclear.
audio: simple audio, fits the game
I like the physics; a small suggestion: display the order number in front of the player instead of in the top-left corner.I’m also curious about how the game relates to the theme. I can see the “count” part, but I don’t see the “down” part. Am I missing something?
Thanks! I didn't think about that.
The down part is "down feathers", which, in this game are to be stuffed into pillows (I didn't have time to visually represent that).
The scales would even out even when there were no weights on the right side yet. So I had a pretty hard time trying to "steady the scales". The concept is so cute tho
Thanks! Yeah, I wasn't able to get the scale working as well as I wanted to.
We really liked the wordplay on the feathers and the Count :)
The gameplay itself sadly got repetitive quite easily; after not being able to balance the scale quite correctly we soon figured out that one feather weighs 0.05kg.. the rest was then played by cheesing using maths haha
Also it might be useful (for potential laptop players) to mention that right click is used to add feathers.. it took us an embarrassing amount of time to figure that one out xD
Haha yeah - I had plans for more varied and complex gameplay but ran out of time...
Oops - I guess I should have just had the controls page opened at the start.
Great idea and i liked the theme and narrative part. But honestly the gameplay was a little hard as it was difficult to adjust and manage the scale. I'm not sure if it's correct, but maybe making it physics based could be causing these issues, so you might have to "fake" the scale animation? Anyway it's still good work!
The physics system I was using definitely did not behave how I wanted it to. Faking it would definitely make it feel better!
I really love the creativity and idea behind this, but the gameplay was a bit confusing.
My first goal weight was 2.7 kgs but the closest I was able to get was to get was to put 3kgs on the right side and 0.5kgs on the left side. Then when I added a bunch of feathers feathers I hit the limit which made the game crash/freeze :c
But the idea of a rigidbody scale that you have to try to use to measure the right amount is really good! And the song + nice looking scale were well done!
Thanks for the feedback! I guess I needed clearer instructions/implications - not having enough weights and a difficult scale are meant to be part of the challenge! I didn't have enough time to optimize for the feathers either...
