How does your game fit the theme?
There's a count, and he is dead. "Down", if you will. Also there is a time limit.

I loved the theme! We were actually thinking of a similar take on the theme mid-way through the jam, but didn't end up going with it.
I liked the writing, but the timer seemed to go against the flow of thoughtfully reading through the story, which made it hard to appreciate. I think "The count is down!" was creative enough on the theme that the timer wouldn't have been needed.
Out of the two cases, I thought the second one was more interesting, but the writing in that one often left out the third singular "s" on verbs.
In the first case, there was one point where the detective said that he hadn't mentioned the service passage, when in actuality, I had chosen the option "Who can open the service passage?" first when addressing the butler.
The custom-made assets were good! This isn't very important, but initially I thought the timer tick was part of the music, until it started to go out of sync. In a way, it made me notice the timer, which I otherwise might have missed.
Great job, both of y'all! :D
Thank you for playing, glad you enjoyed it.
yes, in hindsight, maybe the timer wasn't the best thing to add to the game. Perhaps something different, like a limit to the number of questions, could have been a better fit. Or as you say, maybe just focusing on the murder mystery was sufficient.
Having two detective cases in a single game was quite ambitious. I was able to get the first case first try and the second case second try. The second case was reasonably tricky but fair. I think I would have preferred it if there wasn't a 5-minute time limit, though, since that makes the optimal strategy to skip through the text and read the clues, missing out on the dialog. That being said, having time pressure to solve a case seems like an interesting gameplay idea, so I wonder if there's a way to make it work more smoothly.
Hmm, that's true, perhaps the time limit wasn't the best approach to keep pressure. Maybe counting the number of questions would have been more feeting.
thanks for playing the game
Didn't expect to see a detective-type game with the theme. I was a bit stumped when trying the second case, but got it right after a few guesses, haha.
Great job with the story and dialogues!
Thank you, glad you liked the dialogues and story. And yeah, the second cases got a few curved ball.
Ha! Is that dialogic right? I hear that words sounds :)
Well done with the game, nice story :)
thank you.
And yes, that's Dialogic
used that in my previous jam game :)
A fun & short murder mystery. The first case felt more like a tutorial, which is good to introduce players to the game mechanics. I like the second case, kept me second guessing my choice. I managed to win both cases first try :)
Happy you enjoyed it, and congratulation on being a good detective
Fun little mystery, I really liked the title lol
Music was pretty solid, but the sfx were a little bit harsh to my ears at times.
Anyways, solid job guys, excited to see what you make next!
thank you. Glad you liked it
The art absolutely delights me
Thank you. I'm very happy at how it turned out.
