Fun! I liked this a lot. Quite simple, but the execution was very solid. Decent visuals and sound. The differences between the different crystals were a bit vague at time, and it could use some more polish overall, but for a game jam entry this isn't bad at all. Impressive that you didn't use one of the big commercial game engines (neither did I hehe). Good job :D

Very creative, and very fun! I wish the differences between the crystals was made a bit clearer, but the level progression was very smooth and I enjoyed the challenges you were able to put in. A very solid submission 🎉

I love the game's concept and mechanics! Science-geared games are so uncommon, and this one especially is really-well done. The art is great but could be enhanced with better background visuals if you choose to work on this game further.

A fun little concept that I thought was well crafted and polished. Could've done with some better explanation on some of the concepts, sometimes there would still be toxic elements left and still some crystals but the level would end and I wouldn't know why. But that sort of thing is common in game jams, I know I'm guilty of it. That certainly didn't stop me enjoying it
Good work, it's a well made game that I hope you're proud of.

Great puzzler, I like all the different mechanics though I thought that the spells could be introduced one by one instead of all at once, cause it feels a little daunting at first. Is this what happens in real life when you purify water?

Developer

Honestly I was inspired by a video I saw a few days ago of a powder that attracts mud and small particles to make water drinkable haha

It's a cool concept and a fun little puzzle game! I was a little confused because on an earlier level, the level ended as soon as I got the number of toxic elements below the required levels even though I had infinite crystals to use, but on a later level, I had to keep going until I spent all my crystals for the level to end?

I could definitely see this being expanded into a full game!

I liked the idea, it’s an interesting concept and going on with the levels it really increases the difficulty. I like the “spells” mechanic and in general the artstyle suits well with the concept

that was a very fun experience, i loved the last level that let us go wild, was hoping for something like that and you did it, lovely game start to finish, very engaging game loop

Wow, that was really polished! My only critique is that the idea of combining water purification (more science-y stuff) and spells (more magicky stuff) seemed a little strange, and that while the music was great, it seemed a little more suited to a sci-fi game. Overall though, I'm very impressed at how much you managed to do as a solo dev working without a game engine, and I enjoyed playing through all of the levels.

Thank you very much ! Spells is probably not the right name to choose, but I had no idea haha. And for the music, I don't really have an ear for it, so I took things that sounded not too far from the game

Yep, the music is more of a minor thing, and I think it could work alright here too. I just mentioned it because it definitely wouldn't fit if you were going for a more fantasy/magic vibe like the name "Spells" would imply. These are small nitpicks though and I think you did a great job!

Very cool idea! You should try to develop this further after the event, when you have more time :D
