Fun, challenging game! The mechanic is simple but can be really difficult to do. I personally found it easier to separate the controls to two hands, one controlling the mouse and the other using my laptop's touchpad buttons to left click, instead of doing everything in one hand.  Overall, great job with the game!

Thank you!

I was never reactor welder, but I guess it can't be much harder than this game :D Great simulator effect!

Yep pretty much all there is to it. I mean if you can save the world by typing on a keyboard why shouldn't you be able to weld using a mouse.

Thanks for the kind words, wish we had more time to polish the main mechanic, and how it functions, we slapped some ideas from various fishing games together, and then wasted a lot of time on trying to make autotiles work in godot :D. I'd say we made the system modular enough to have these different kinds of welds, just didn't have time to tweak the numbers.

This is a punishingly difficult game. I love the way it looks, I love the idea, I love everything about it... but the welding itself? Like lafferty mentions below, it's really frustrating and hard to handle the cooling behaviour. I found this especially difficult once the Stick welds came in. I also took forever to figure out what that UI was meant to be telling me, which seemed odd in a game with, otherwise, a very detailed tutorial.

I really love the idea, and the polish on this game is immense. Genuinely gorgeous, fun, and well-made. This is a really good entry! But it needs some gameplay tweaks I think.

Thank you for the kind words and feedback. Lack of time for proper playtesting and balancing out the numbers was definitely the biggest issue. One tip for anyone new playing is that when you get to stick welding the heat level is a constant pattern and you have to hold the mouse for a bit and then release it for the same time. The same pattern should apply to TIG welding, only a bit more difficult. Raising difficulty through different game mechanics and not just numbers is something I wish we had done in time, but for our first jam I'm happy that we just shipped a game. Once again thank you for the kind words.

Focusing on the gameplay mechanics of the welding, I think my biggest critique is the cooling part of the weld was very frustrating to learn the timing for. For certain welds, if you ever stayed in the "sweet spot" the weld decay wouldn't be fast enough for how fast the bar moved. I think using the "sweet spot" as an indicator is great, but it should ideally guide the player.

There was also some frustration where the placement of the guide had my eyes off of the welding. i think if you could get the weld to show the status, instead of the bar, that would be a huge boon to readability and playability.

I liked the concept, and its a solid submission. Well done!

Hi lafferty, definitely valid criticisms and thank you for the feedback. These are things we considered just there wasn't enough juice left to test it out or implement different ways to show heat or make the game more difficult with a new mechanic. Thank you again :D
