I think the narrative was really nice: the talking wurm had something creepy and scary, well done. I also liked the game even if I think it was a little too hard for me. I had to try multiple times each level.
Very well done !
Using max health as the countdown is a great idea! The level with the ton of bats was very challenging but the whole game was fun overall!
Your game is awesome. The pixel art paired with the CRT effect really makes it feel like if I was in an arcade! The only thing is would have gone broke! The difficulty is pretty high, but I think it fits well the style of game I think you aimed for, though maybe not everyone will be able to finish it. Really cool!
It is quite difficult especially timing the jumping. However the vibes are there and I can see this being polished into a really cool game. Very good!
cool game regardless the theme but i feel the audio would be the cherry on top
I love the aestiethic of the game, remind me of flah game very much. However, I do found some problem with your controls.
- Jump have dely and it's very hard to aim it against the log
- Unavoidable damages. While I see the HP is the countdown, I found it frustruting that I am forced to take damages
Overall a pretty nice game, good job !
Thanks for playing! :) Could you clarify what you mean by unavoidable damage? Do you mean the fact that your HP ticks down after each level, or were there sections that appeared to force you to take damage? Every level is able to be cleared without taking any hits, so it's a really helpful piece of feedback for me to know if there are any sections that are unclear and appear to be impossible without taking damage.
Really difficult, i gave up before the end. Otherwise, really interesting gamepkay and a stunning artstyle !

Very difficult game but very fun to learn the mechanics. Jumping has a very strict timing and that's the only part that feels frustrating to me. Otherwise the sound and art is really charming and I like it a lot!
I love another boxing game! It was fairly challenging and the sound + art art on point. I agree that it would have been nice to have more introduction to some of the interactions in particular to dr wormhole in the end. I ended up punching them until I got the victory screen but I'm unsure if I could have gotten away with just dodging. The punch is pretty satisfying
Also love Dr. Wormhole lines
Thanks for making this, and I'm curious to know what the other boxing game you wanted to make is!
Thanks! :) I was originally going to use these mechanics to make a series of boxing matches against various wacky opponents, but realized that I was only on pace to finish the work for one of those fights by the time the jam would end (I kind of forgot to account for the fact that each behavior the boxer could do would need at least 3 animations to cover all of the directions- they could face).
You did the right thing with Dr. Wormhole - There's no secret pacifist ending, but maybe there should have been one!
BOXING KANGAROO! I had fun with this one, it took me a couple of attempts to get the hang of the systems that are pretty difficult at first. but once I did it all made sense! I also really like the art in the game! I think making it a little more clear on how the interactions with the enemies work in the early levels would help with the difficulty curve!
BOXING KANGAROO! I definitely agree - I wanted to add more levels to introduce the systems more cleanly, but I had a last-minute pivot away from a more obviously boxing-inspired game which needed more time in the oven, and barely got across the finish line 😅 Thanks for playing!
This game is tough. My only suggestions would be:
Overall I like the concept though!
