Love the atmosphere and audio. I like the combination of the turn-based mechanic with the feel of an exploration RPG. I quite enjoyed the upgrade system, although I'd want the ability to skip them if I'm happy with my setup.
For just a game jam version, this was a great experience. For a potentially full version, I'd say this is currently lacking just a bit of motivation of curiosity to pull me in further. The gameplay is fun, but it should tease a bit more about why I'd want to explore these caves, what could be down the next ladder if I just keep going.
Potential bug: it froze for quite a while after I claimed the Leftovers item upon clearing the second room. It did keep playing, but it paused for like a solid 10-20 seconds.
Really neat game! Very caves of qud. Took me a while to get to grips with it, I died within 3 floors like 4 times but then something clicked! I wish there was some turn gain from going down floors, it feels bad to scrape through a room just to die on the first step out into a new one. Other than that this is a neatly tied up package. The perks and upgrades are interesting and having a range of weapons kept things fresh. I'll probably come back to this one! Nice work
Imma be back, i like the simplicity of it, but lots to think about. Going the shotgun killed me lol, lost my groove.
I like the tie to countdown, the controls are easy to use , art fits nicely (and a nice homage to rouge)
Yes, this is solid! What engine is it build on?
Loved it! felt super solid!
That is really cute! The music is so good!!
10/10
This one is great! I really like how all the systems intertwine, and there's some good variety with the power-ups. It took me a bit, but eventually I seemed to snowball a build that just steamrolled everything lol.
Super polished! Fantastic job on this! The countdown mechanic feels slightly tacked on, but the polish and juice makes the game feel incredible to play. I love the minimalism and the simplicity of the effects. Strong design.
If you have a minute, we'd super appreciate if you took a look at the game my team made as well and maybe give it a rate.
The main gun is the best!! And I racked up a lot of skills in the process. Got stuck in the third area as others suggested as well. Though I enjoyed this a lot!
Love the art, and I enjoyed the mechanical depth. One thing I found a bit problematic is that every weapon felt worse than the default gun. I am surprised how polished it is for a jam!
Such ana amzing game.
Love the art to it's amazing
very solid game, i wish there was a way to skip your turn also found a bug where some of the items in the upgrade screen show up twice
Really enjoyed it, and it was quite challenging too
A perfect game, by all means.
A fun and addictive turn-based roguelike with a great ability system and a clever implementation of the jam theme. Unfortunately, my game froze at the end of Act 3, just as mentioned in the known issues on the itch.io page.
I also think it would be helpful to have a list showing all the abilities you have chosen, so you can easily remember what each one does and how they interact.
Overall, I really liked it!
It was hard to understand at the beginning but I really love the game! The idea of everything cost-turn is pretty smart congrats!
What an amazing game! I loved it so much that I almost forgot to leave a rating — the only thing that interrupted me was the crash on the skeleton level. Still, I absolutely love this game!
Really well done. Would be nice to have indicators of what upgrades you have already gained.
I really love your aesthetic, the audio and visuals really go nicely together! It's impressive you managed to introduce so many different level types, power ups, weapons etc in such a short time frame. Great work!
305! so solid! had no idea what was happening at first but that's on me for not reading the desc, at some point I got crazy overpowered and everything was a cinch
