Needs more juice to be sure. It's a little dry at the moment.

superbly polished, and a really cool core concept. Loved planning every move 1+ rounds ahead, and the modifiers stack up really fast to help you keep pace with the scores. Not sure if it was a bug, but I burned out when there were still 21 turns remaining in one of the Boss rounds? Possibly I missed some mechanic, but I suppose it's fitting I lost to a countdown I didn't spot in this jam. Overall you should be super proud of what you managed to get done in 4 days, it's really amazing. Congratulations on your submission :)

Good luck bug squashing, and if you have time to check out our game we'd appreciate it. Thank you!

The core concept of combining the countdown theme with Poker is brilliant. As a fan of Balatro, I knew I was going to enjoy playing it.

You added an impressive amount of features and power ups in the short amount of time given to us. The only issue is that I think it might be too much for a game jam. I think the amount of content in the game and how the tutorial was done could potentially scare off a lot of players who might not be as familiar with the genre. A more streamlined version would have helped more people get into it as well as giving you more time to focus on the little details and balancing. It would also mean you get to showcase the best of everything, since players are more likely to encounter the best stuff if there is less.

I had a lot of fun playing it, and it got me thinking about how I would have implemented the countdown theme with Balatro.

You did a great job, well done!

Thanks for trying it and I agree with you. I could have done better if I had focused more on the first steps, the tutorial could for sure been better. I'll check your game tomorrow!
