I always appreciate a good Dig Dug-like. This is a really polished submission that shows a lot of potential, especially with how you used the different dig shapes/patterns as power-ups and tied the fuel consumption to the countdown theme.

I do think the balancing could use a bit of work. With all these power-ups, a larger, infinite generated level would fit the gameplay perfectly. Adding more hazards would also give the special movement mechanics more purpose like things you could avoid with less fuel usage than digging normally, this way you gotta actively count ahead and know for certain where you land. For instance, a worm entity attacking vertically from below would force players to use the side-step, or a horizontal worm could give us a real reason to use the dash. Right now, there isn't much need to use those moves aside from the coolness factor.

Also, despite my previous suggestion of forcing the player to actively count ahead tiles, a nice quality-of-life feature would still be highlighting the projected path when hovering over the special moves so you know exactly where you'll end up.

Nonetheless, despite the extra polish and work that game design loop would need, this submission still shows your vision, and those are all things that can easily be added post-jam. Great work!

That twist at the end was nice!  had fun playing it

I really enjoyed playing this and after I hit the bottom I thought it would be over. It was a nice touch to have the ending you had!

A fun game. Changing the pace of playing at the end was very smart and interestingly unexpected. Well done!

Interesting idea! I think the game would benefit from a few more animations and a more polished UI. But I completely understand that time was very limited during the jam. Great job putting this together in such a short time! 😊

Very fun game, easy win in my book

This game was very fun, the most fun one I played so far! Good sound effects and music, makes it feel very tense. I like the fuel concept, and the twist at the end I did not expect at all! Great job!

I think out of the games ive played so far this is one of my favorites! it gives heavy mega miner vibes which i used to play all the time when i was a kid. i got greedy at the end and lost my fuel 3 blocks from the end of the second part. very fun 9/10

I accidentally cheated on my first run and ruined the game

I really enjoyed it, reminded me of this game I used to play a long time ago. Maybe you could have an indicator for where the drill will mine, other than that the powerups were pretty cool

That was a very fun game, and I loved the twist at the end. Was not expecting that at all, and I barely managed to win with just 3 fuel left. Good job!

Quite an interesting twist that I didn't expect.

The powerups could use a bit of improvement, however I quite enjoyed my time playing the game.

Great work

Very fun game !

Glad you added the possibility to move with arrow because I'm french and my WASD is ZQSD.

Not fan of the art but a fan of evrything else. The core idea is very fun, there is a lot of strategy on how to move and collect the most points. The abilities are a great idea in order to make the game more fun and accessible.

The music is great also !

The most fun part is the end rush where you can go on your own path to use less fuel, great idea !

solid game, fun to play and I like the music tracks. would have been cool to match the ambience of the music with more visual development, but enjoyable regardless
