[Unity][Programmer] Looking for partner(s) to develop games

Hey everyone!

I'm looking for some people, or at least one creative artist, to start developing games together.

To start i would suggest developing one or a few short playable games, to see if we can work well together, refine workflows and so on. If that goes well, we can still increase the scope or start some more ambitious project. So the focus would definitely be more on the learning side, getting experience developing and publishing a game from start to finish in a team, and hopefully find some longer term partners :). So no payment involved, no kind of rev-share or monetization planned at this stage. If we come along together well and have a cool idea, we can talk about something like that. Those projects are intended for portfolio, learning or similar purposes.

With this in mind, i'd suggest limiting the timeline of the first project(s) to some weeks, or 2-3 months at maximum.

I'd prefer to group up with at least one artist, and ideally another programmer to start with, and only expand with more specialized roles like pure level designers or writers later on if necessary.  Since i'm not a very creative person myself, i currently don't have any particular game idea/genre for this in mind and am open to work on different things.

A bit about myself:

I'm a self-taught programmer in his mid 30's living in Germany, so english isn't my native language if that wasn't obvious so far :)

Unfortunately i currently don't have a fully completed game by myself to show off since i worked mostly on prototypes (small clones of titles like Vampire's Survivor, Rusty's Retirement and so on) and smaller systems for myself, plus a few contributions to open source projects here and there. I know the basics of game dev in Unity and feel confident enough to develop a game on my own, but i prefer to work together with others and as already mentioned, my creative skills aren't good, with almost no talent for art. I'm far away from a experienced developer, but willing to learn a lot and able to pick up required knowledge along the way myself.

What i expect from others:

A good amount of dedication and a fair amount of time. That's pretty much it. The will and dedication to finish some project(s).

If this sounds interesting to you and you'd like to know more, feel free to reply here or write me a discord message (m4lph).

I sent a friendship request to discord: Impact
