The different visual styles were all really interesting! The intro scene reminds me of a comic style, especially with the fun motions and expressions going on. The sprites had a good crispy feel to them as well, even if I was slightly surprised by how fast Youmu was running. Also, green-haired Yukari and gardener Marisa were fun stylizations!

The premise was funny, so I was eager to see how the rest of the writing was. I did notice some inconsistencies as if rushed, and would have been interested in how it closes out, but the mushroom puns made up for it in the meantime. :3

In any case, the concept of a platformer with Youmu is very fun, and I look forward to seeing what you all do next!

Had a lot of fun playing this, always nice to play as Youmu and use her sword. Story was very amusing haha. Really hope you finish it, I will come back and play it again if you do!

Running around fast slashing/collecting mushrooms while double jumping was really fun. I do think the combat is a bit underwhelming for how precise your hits must be. I found the art to be very charming, including that intro sequence. Also the story is quite entertaining, same with the dialogue. If it ever does get finished, I would love see the ending result. So far, fun game.

Youmu go slashy. Just moving around, the amount of weight it feels like I have makes me think I should be able to crush enemies by running into them. Bullets, too. Did... Did Yukari gap Articles Of Clothing across her border after the Kidnapping.

The intro was really charming and expressive. I really dig the sharp design of the characters. I really got confused since I didn't understood the layout very well at the beginning but quickly figured out there where just two areas, and also took me forever to find that I needed to scroll down on the store to find the boss key so I was messing around with the controllers trying to get all of the mushrooms. The attack is a little finicky and the speed doesn't match very well with some things, but once you get the feeling the speed feels really fun with the upgrades.

The mushroom puns are great :3

My Favorite Part: Moving and doing double jumps and wall jumps was pretty addictive.

I was worried about how small the player was in comparison to the rest of the map, but you move fast enough that it didn't end up being a big problem. I do feel like the combat is a bit lacking, partly because your slash is kind of weak and hitting enemies feels a bit unnecessarily precise? Though it's cool that you can clear bullets with it!

I really liked the sort of motion comic opening. I wish the mushrooms didn't reset when re-entering an area, though I guess that does make it fun to route a speedrun.

That's weird, re entering an area is not supposed to reset your mushrooms, I think that's a bug, sorry you ran into that!

Jam HostSubmitted

well not my total, I meant the mushrooms in the level itself.

Developer

Oh that. Yeah we were also thinking about that but by that time we ran out of time. That's something we'll consider doing post jam though!
