If you have implemented the modifier, how have you done so?
You play as the Judge on 'Just Shipt™', where you're responfble for shipping servers together and judging their compatibility.

Any additional information for voters?
Yeah, the game's not quite finished yet, I haven't had enough time, and there are still a few things missing. You're supposed to connect the servers together. They have their personalities and preferences, so you have to find their pair (ship them). The quality of the connection will influence the server happiness and sometimes stability. There's a limit on how many green/red disk's can be at a time, so you have to either ship them or destroy them, by physically moving the box, to the industrial room, and putting it into one of the machines. The quality of disks depends on the happiness and stability of servers. If server is unable to deploy disk, it's stability will worsen, if it falls below 0% the server will explode. You can connect server to the pedestal to see its data - name, personality, description, connected servers, etc. Yeah I'm aware that ctr+w closes the page, but you can just open the game in full screen. Also I might have copied player script from one of my other games, so there's sliding, wall sliding etc. lol (when moving crouch) (btw. just throw the cable at the server to connect it. If the cable sticks, then its connected, and the light on the cable plug changes color) White connected to terminal Green both plugs connected to terminal Orange one plug connected Red no plug connected

I noticed you saying that the game is unfinished and it shows.

I actually liked the graphics - It reminds me of Half-Life 1. The atmosphere was pretty neat too

Gameplay wise however, I was pretty much even more confused after reading what I'm supposed to do. The item system is also janky in an annoying way. I can see the potential in a deep gameplay, but without a comprehensive tutorial or objective system, it doesn't work.

I however liked the in-depth system of the server personalities - Connecting them together and checking their connection status was interesting in a good way.

For this reason, it's better to make the gameplay simpler in the question of Game Jams. Not only would it be more accessible, but the general risk of running out of time is much lower.

Eitherway, I wanna see you keep working on this game - As I said, this has potential and I like more complex games.

Good stuff 👍

I really love the concept behind this one, it's so charming and out there. You should keep working on it! The flavor text for each server seems AI generated but it honestly kinda works lol, the terse and generic descriptions give you just enough to fill in with your imagination. Dragging around physics objects is janky but fun. There's definitely optimization and balancing work to be done (along with some guidance for the player), but there's a lot you could expand on too. Let me know if you keep working on it, I'd be excited to see any updates :)

I’m not sure what I’m meant to be doing here. I think I’m just meant to be putting the red disks into the red box and putting the green disks into the green box? Anyway, there’s definitely a strong vibe of this being a somewhat desolate spacecraft (could use some ambient audio to seal the deal). Not sure what the deal with the server room is, I was able to plug one end of a cable into the table, no idea what the second half is meant to plug into.

Anyway, I do appreciate the ambition with this entry - but, overall, I’m just confused more than anything else.

(also, word of advice - I’d suggest binding crouch to ‘c’ in addition to ‘ctrl’, because ctrl+w closes current tab on web)

I see.

Thanks for the explanation - I’ve given the game another go - managed to get some ships, but the game just freezes after a few servers blow up, so I haven’t managed to get very far xd

(anyway, fwiw - ctrl+w still forcibly closes the tab even in fullscreen, it is inevitable with web builds (and running windows games via proton is a pain in the backside))

I seem to be stuck with a loading bar forever at 0%, any chance you could upload a windows build? 👀

Added :)

Great, that works! I found it confusing (even reading your instructions) as to what exactly was going on and what the goal is: pair up all the servers? Ship many green floppy disks? Do the servers relate to the floppy disks in some way? Anyway the ship layout was cool, but also kind of got in the way of the gameplay I think, since running back and forth for cables is a bit tedious. Congrats on submitting and just shippin’ it!

Really interesting! First off, I love the style of the game! Graphics look really dingy and like I'm having the authentic ship experience.

I wonder whether this game could do with a desktop build?  For me it was so slow that  it paused for multiple seconds sometimes. I liked the gameplay of connecting server racks, and I did manage to destroy most of them before the game hard crashed for me!

Lot of potential for this game! Hope to see a fully completed version if you ever get the chance!

Added desktop build :)

If your mouse isn't captured just pause and un-pause the game ["esc"/"p"] to lock the mouse.

It took forever to load, stalling out several times, and then I had to do it again because I clicked outside and the mouse isn't recaptured. I do really like the premise and graphical style though.

I wasn't sure what I was actually supposed to be doing- I didn't realize the game wasn't finished. Presumably, the objectives will be added later?

Developer

I tried to optimize the loading, by first loading a map, displaying every object, and shader for couple of frames (thats the stall at 20%), then loading the main map (80%), and the player automatically looking around to make sure all shaders are loaded (100%). Also the game purposely stalls at 67% :). Even after all of this i do still feel lags during gameplay, that's probably web limitations - you can download the desktop version, it performs better.

If the mouse isn't captured it will recapture after pausing so you just need to pause and un-pause ("esc" or "p").

There is already an objective, just the main goal is missing and some other features.

As for the objective, you need to ship servers together, judge whether disk should be destroyed or shipped. For more details refer to my reply to 11BelowStudio comment.

The graphics are good, I like them! However, my cursor doesn't lock to the screen. I don't know if it's just me or a general issue, but it's okay. Great job anyway!

Developer

Have you tried pausing the game?

Submitted

Yea, but it doesn't really help, so ok

Developer(+1)

You can try the desktop version then
